I highly recommend brunch at the Iron Gate Cafe; however, make certain you’re on the wait list prior to arrival. Unfortunately, our experience was affected by the hostess. We waited two hours and remained first in line for well over an additional thirty minutes as those who came later were accommodated ahead of us. Nevertheless, excellent food, an exquisite ambiance in a historical home and outstanding service made it worthwhile.
What a wonderful discovery downtown Albany tucked away in a remodeled colonial home.
It’s a great place for brunch, and I highly recommend the pancakes if for nothing else than the locally sourced organic syrup. Awesome.
Hot chocolate, if you’re a fan, will not disappoint. Coffee was great too.
If you’re in Albany and you’re hungry on the weekend, definitely add this to your list to visit.
Staff was friendly, helpful and professional! The ambiance was relaxing and very interesting given the history of the building. The food arrived fresh and was served by someone who seemed proud and happy to present the fare. Drinks were delicious, food amount was ample and flavorful and we didn’t feel rushed or pressured to end our experience. Highly recommend.
Such a cute atmosphere, great staff, and delicious food! I got their watermelon spritz and the french toast with beetles and whipped cream with a side of bacon and everything was delicious! Sitting outside is ideal but inside is cute too! GF and vegan options!
The food was absolutely awesome and them having a beer license was very nice as well for brunch. The servers were polite and I had no complaints. For those who care the atmosphere is on the fruity side. Other then that if I were in Albany again, definitely will be making a return.
