5 Reviews on “Endzas Eats”
Endza’s is an interesting little eatery at the four corners of NY Routes 5 & 20 and NY 15 east of Avon. I wouldn’t call it a restaurant, it’s more of a simple roadside food shack. “Chef” Endza, as he refers to himself, is a gruff, salty personality who passionately serves generous portions of smoked BBQ chicken, pulled pork, fried shrimp dinners and Friday fish fry.
Typically, there is only one main offering on any given night with a limited choice of sides like salt potatoes, potato wedges and Cole slaw. Drinks are whatever cans of soda he happens to have in the fridge. He keeps it simple. If you’re looking for fancy amenities this isn’t it. Your dinner will be served in a Styrofoam takeout container with plastic utensils and a single napkin. Inside and outside seating is limited. Most get their dinners to go.
But the food is served hot, is good tasting, and the best value around. For example a large fresh, never frozen, Friday Fish Fry with two sides is only $10.
Super-huge piece of fish breaded and fried crispy dark. Greasy french fried logs served from a dirty cardboard box. $12 a plate not unreasonable, but based on cleanliness alone, not a place to try twice. For a Friday fish fry takeout try the Moose lodge in Henrietta. It has a way better taste, a variety of broiled and fried fish, potato options (including sweet potato fries!) and twice the value for the same money.
7/29/22 Fish Fry was recommend by a friend. Highly disappointed. Fish was the darkest brown from dirty fryer oil. Tasted like dirty fryer oil. Two bites, I threw the entire meal out. The “Chef” was dirty with zero personality. Restaurant hasn’t been cleaned in years.
$14 dollars wasted.
Fish fry dinner is mid. Value is there but sacrificed for quality. Friendly staff. Not somewhere I would eat in at as cleanliness isn’t a top priority nor does it seem like it’s encouraged. (Tables had supplies on them and a bag of potatoes was sitting on a seat.) Mom ‘n Pop/hole in the wall vibe. There’s a fair share of regulars but this doesn’t itch my scratch when I’m looking for a good fish fry.
I absolutely love this place. The chicken is tender and juicy. And I always get the salt potatoes!!! Highly recommend!!!!
