The food is very average nothing special, the fries seemed to be fried in very old oil. The salad was warm and tomatoes were soggy and not to mention they only give you about 3 cucumbers and one piece of tomatoe I even asked if it was someone else’s unfinished salad.. just didn’t even look safe to eat. The staff not very welcoming . Not coming back.
I stopped by here for lunch and the flavors were delicious! I ordered a passion fruit juice that tasted exactly like passionfruit. It was really refreshing and then I ordered 1/2 roasted chicken with rice and beans. The order also came with Maduros. The plantains were sweet and flavorful. I really considered ordering a side order. I also ordered the beef empanada and loved that it had potato in it with the beef. I would definitely go back. The portions were large. I had enough for lunch, dinner and lunch again.
Authentic Colombian food. From the portion sizes to the seasoning, you can’t go wrong ordering some good Colombian food.
Personally, I think the menu is way too complex and way too many options. Options that are not even Colombian, which I found unnecessary & distracting. Service was good. However, they brought appetizers and mains at the same time. Given the generous portions, there was simply no room in the table for all the dishes. Drinks were ok & environment, cozy. Def enjoyed my meal & will not hesitate to come back if in the area.
P.s: never seen Yuka fries done this way. They were ok. And their green sauce, uffff so good.
Came by with my family to have a nice lunch together. Food was delicious!! Only down side is some had to wait a while for their food while some had their food already for a bit. Aside from that I recommend this place, good variety of dishes:) decent prices too
After attending a wonderful performance at Thalia theater, I decided to dine at La Pollera de Mario. My mom is a food critic and she was extremely impressed with the food.
The salmon was cooked to perfection and it was coupled with a mango salad. Their sangria was out of this world. My only pet peeve was our waitress. She was non attentive. The restaurant was not super busy, so I couldn’t understand her lack of presence. She took our order and was very pleasant. Our food arrived in a timely fashion and we never saw her AGAIN!!! She didn’t come back to check if we would like more drinks, how is the food, here is your bill, nothing. I had to stop another waitress to ask her for a plastic container for our left over. How did I get to pay for my food??? I had to walk over to the take out and ask for my bill.
Again, the food is excellent but this particular waitress made the experience not so pleasant. I highly recommend this place for the food. The waitress might need more training. If she was on break she should have shared that information.
The waitress missing in action is not a good look for this lovely eatery.
