Finally, a unique dining experience in the area! Beautifully designed for fine dining, the atmosphere is both classy and comfortable, which don’t always go hand in hand. At first look, it’s obvious there’s lots of special attention to detail, down to even the convenient purse hooks at every bar stool. The wine vault was crafted keeping the old bank vault door, and impeccably decorated for a more intimate dining experience. I don’t know anything about wine, but the wine menu is vast and I can definitely vouch for the Italian beer. The food is absolutely incredible. The pairings on the charcuterie board includes items like Nutella paired with blue cheese, lemon creme paired with drunken goat cheese, fig spread paired with brie, plus an assortment of meats with hard cheeses and artisanal breads. The bread and olive oil board is also a must, along with a ricotta cheese and honey spread. The Caesar salad with chicken is plentiful, the meatballs are so flavorful with an incredible cheesy tomato sauce, and the buratta has the most amazing texture and taste with a paired honey drizzle that is perfection. The hangar steak melts in your mouth, the mushroom truffle pizza has an incredible burst of flavor with a nice thin bread crust. This was my first time having Caviar and it was surprisingly sweet and tasteful mixed with egg whites, egg yolks, scallions, fresh creme and little pancakes. For dessert, I can’t rave enough about the cheesecake and the little cups of fruit with gelato. The prices are in line with the dining experience and this place is excellent for an intimate date, an office outing, a business meeting or a family celebration. Lloyd has such a calm and patient demeanor, and is readily available to answer all questions or make expert recommendations to enhance your dining experience. Since opening only a month ago, I have dined here several times for both lunch and dinner and the food and atmosphere is always consistently amazing. I have no doubt this will quickly become a popular spot and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
Just had dinner here and loved every bite! We had the charcuterie for two, oysters, meatballs, and a analloni pasta. All amazing! Service was superb and atmosphere relaxing and unique. Definitely check this place out!
This is an awesome new restaurant in Suffern in a building that use to be a bank so it has a big parking lot. But go there for the creative food. And the wine. (There are no mixed drinks.)
Celebrated my dad’s birthday tonight at Lavagna and it could not have been better! The service, the recommendations and the food, all top notch! One dish was better than the last and the flavors were elevated, inventive and exciting. We can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend!
An interesting but small menu, make sure you like an option or two before you go. The service is outstanding and it’s done very cute inside. The food is very good, but not great. Very good wine selection and excellent suggestions.
