Food is authentic, it’s as though you’re eating Italian food in Italy! Very delicious and ingredients are superb. Staff is amazing and very attentive.
Delicious, fantastic, magnificent! The very best Italian restaurant I’ve very experienced. The true Italian food I can say because I have 12 years of working experience in Europe before! What we ordered today, there’s no disappointment. Each one turns out to be surprisingly delicious!
Food was amazing. My sister is vegan and they were very accommodating. Very few tables so be sure to reserve a table. Service was great. Definitely coming back.
We visited this restaurant on our way back from upstate NY and stopped in Albany because of the amazing, glowing reviews. This place somehow has 4.9 stars with people suggesting that this is the best Italian restaurant they have ever been to, and so forth. We were excited, and made the stop. I am frankly amazed and perplexed at how this restaurant manages to have such a high rating. We saw that we were going to have to pay nearly $100 (including tip & tax) for a small appetizer, a pizza, and a chicken parmigiana but we trusted the reviews and agreed to the experience. We made a mistake. The ingredients felt like they were of decent quality, and the food tasted OK. We started with a Caprese salad that had 5 halved cherry tomatoes and 6 thin slices of Mozzarela with a drizzle of balsamic for $18. Next came the entrées. A chewy prosciutto pizza for $25 that was OK, certainly not thin and crispy like other reviewers suggested. Then came the chicken parmigiana. In NO world is it justified to pay $35 for this dish, even in NYC, London, Paris, or Rome! This restaurant’s version of the dish simply reaffirmed this idea. It was alright at best. Finally, on the service, we received little to none of it. We were never asked how the food was midway, and felt pressured to order at the beginning. Overall it was an OK experience, but NOT for the price. The biggest shock for me is how a place in Albany, NY can stay in business with these prices and this food? This is not fine dining, people. It is fine dining prices without the fine dining. I don’t have any evidence to back it up, but I am quite suspicious of the reviews. I will never trust reviews as much as I did before dining at Villa di Como Ristorante in Albany, NY. Beware!
Vibes were very authentic and remained true to what was expected when “Italian” comes to mind. Dinner was a 10 out of 10 paired perfectly with garlic bread and seltzer water. Our server was prompt, polite and present throughout our dining experience.
