Had some delicious pasta at Il Giardino. The pappardelle bolognese, the salmon pasta and the lemoncello cake were absolutely delicious. The rib eye, the tiramisu and the cannoli were ok. The ambiance and the vibes were amazing, both for dinner with friends and dates. The servers were very nice, and we even met some nice people at the bar as well as the chef. However, the waiting time was completely ridiculous: we had to wait for almost 1 hour after ordering our food! Would reserve ahead of time and come in only if you have the time for a delicious, yet somewhat slow dinner 🙂
Sat wirh no wait at a pretty little table on the porch. (Have to note that upon leaving there appeared to be quite a wait so make your resys early). All locally sourced food was excellent and came our steing hot. We didnt care for the zucchini flowers infortunately. These were too heavily dredged in egg and therefore lost some of its delicate flavor and lightness. Drinks were also delicious and they have a very nice wine selection including local choices. Hand made cannolli for dessert was yummy!
Excellent choice just outside of Riverhead. Delicious pasta and seafood dishes by Sicilian-born chef Gambino. We loved our table on the porch in the lovely late summer weather. The Flounder Oreganata was excellent and came with a large side dish of pasta – in our case we chose linguine with clam sauce. The clams were large and flecked with olive and herbs. The pan-fried scallops were similarly mouth-watering. We’ll be back.
I would have given it 5 stars all across the board but they do take reservations but never have we sat anywhere close to our reservation time. The food is amazing and I will definitely eat there again but if you think your going to make a reservation for anytime after 6 and be seated in a timely manner than this probably isn’t going to be the place for you. Everyone dinner was amazing
The fish was fresh and cooked perfect. I order chicken Parmigiano with vodka sauce over rigatoni and it was delicious. Perfect amount of flavor and spice to sauce and chicken was tender and cooked to perfection. Everyone in our group loved there meal.
We went here to celebrate my youngest daughter’s birthday. We had a 5:30 dinner reservation. The place was pretty busy already! We chose to eat outside in the garden area which was lovely. I was near a beautiful fig tree, vegetable gardens planted with tomatoes, squash, basil and more tomatoes. Shrubs, mandevillas, hydrangeas and the tables were set with cuts of flowers from the various planters and the yard. It was a nice homey feeling as though we were coming over for dinner to a relatives home.. Appetizers and dinner were brought out with ample time to enjoy each course without getting bloated. The servings are not huge which made it even better. Everyone loves. The food. My only complaint concerns a group of 4 guests who were forced to run to the bar due to a sudden rain storm. We were a party of 6, my other daughter left earlier but the birthday girl was getting another cocktail. I didn’t realize they were waiting on their food, thought they were finished and they thought we were just hanging around taking up a valuable table under an awning and we’re making loud comments about us, such as “I guess they are going to just sit there and let us wait”. Thank God I wear hearing aides as it my other daughter who was right in earshot who said we are waiting for my sisters drink and the check and try he table is yours. ” These people were old men who were acting like grade school boys. We gladly gave them the table and found 2 nicer couples at the bar while my daughter finished her birthday cocktail. We wished them a good evening and an enjoyable dinner. Kind of ALMOST our a damper on our night but not on my daughter’s birthday!
