5 Reviews on “The Spinning Gyro”
It was solid. Quick to make our food, orders were accurate. The meat for our gyro’s was some of the best in the area, but I think the sauce was lack luster. The baklava was ok, 3/5. Also better in the area. The veggies were all high quality and excellent.
The stuffed grape leaves were nicely seasoned. The hummus was great. If I was closer I’d consider going here more often, but as it’s a bit out of the way for me, the food isn’t quite outstanding enough for the effort.
Friendly staff but food is bad here. I had the spinach Burek, roasted Brussels sprouts and the Kofte Kabab platter. All food was reheated and tasted worse than gas station food.
Today I purchased the beef and lamb gyro platter. I also purchased hummus and pitta on the side. The meat was so dry and sliced as if it was meant to be beef jerky. It was not good at all. And I really wanted to love it! The hummus was good, however they don’t give a good ratio of hummus and pitta bread. Loads oh hummus for almost $7 and one pitta sliced up. I would come back to try something different and buy the hummus again!
Staff was friendly. Parking was busy during lunch time and meter pay. Took about 15 minutes from time of ordering to get the food. I spent $21.75 and a 15% tip.
We turned the corner following the sounds of a raucous band and lo and behold there was a “block party” going on before the game right outside the MVP ARENA. We snaked our way through the crowd and found a non-busy SPINNING GYRO run by Turks. Everything looked good and fresh and I wanted to spend the least amount I could, the Tacos looked like a good choice. I also asked a couple questions like: How do you pronounce GYRO? What cuisine is this? and How is business with this crazy arena across the street? We first ordered 1 chicken and 1 lamb and beef Mediterranean tacos which come with 3 tacos each which were really really good. We 5 devoured them and found that it was not enough. We ordered a mixed GYRO platter with all three meats along with rice, fries and bread. That took a while to come out but we quickly devoured that meal too. We all commented the hot sauce on the side was really good and we wanted to take it with us. But we were going to a football game at the MVP ARENA, that wouldn’t have worked. This place is highly recommended and it was super simple, all packed and ready to take out if you need to.
Fantastic experience! Delicious food that tastes heavenly, homemade dolams are a must-try! It is a pleasant environment with a great selection of music. The team was so nice and friendly. Try the lamb and beef platter.
