We had such a nice dinner here tonight. The Tortilla soup was exceptionally good, and I really enjoyed the non-alcoholic Hibiscus All-spice frozen drink I got. The nachos with steak were loaded and delicious. The only thing I would have asked for is some more chips, but that tells you how generous they are with their toppings.
Our server was great and the staff overall was great. And honestly even the music was top notch. They really do a good job with creating a nice atmosphere. We love this as our neighborhood Mexican joint.
At first, I was unsure about this little gem, located in Queens. Walking in the smell of incense was too overwhelming and the atmosphere came off as unwelcoming. But to my surprise the food was authentic, and well presented. The drinks were a bit watered down but I did not mind as it took nothing away from the food. Big shout out to my man Moe! As a server he was excellent. He presented him self as very caring and worked to ensure our needs were met. All said and done, things could have been better but this place is definitely on my list of must read visit.
I’ve visited Mayahuel over a dozen times and every single time the experience is slightly better than the last. We got to try the release of their revamped menu and it was amazing as expected; we had to be rolled out. Our server pronounced and described all the dishes to perfection, almost made it difficult to choose our apps and entrees. Drinks were well curated and varied in style. Like us, we recommend you have dinner at the dining room and end your night at the bar. Vibes were immaculate. See you soon!
Been here twice, once for my birthday and another for date night. Food always hits the spot and made fresh. My favorite is the enchiladas suiza and the portion is perfect for sharing! Tacos are really good and the appetizers are all tasty. Such a great local spot and they have a great happy hour too. One of my favorite restaurants in Astoria!
Honestly one of the best flavors I’ve had in NY. The baha tacos are really delicious and melt in your mouth. The ceviche, can’t remember what it’s actually called, is so authentic and flavorful. The steak is charred and cooked to perfection. And the snapper, idk what to say but just get it. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Found a new fave in Astoria.
