The customer service is ok the cashier was nice the person sharing out the food seemed over it like he wanted to go home. I requested Escovitch chicken but apparently although on the menu they didn’t have any Number one pet peeve I was forced since I was starving to settle for the jerk chicken. I had high expectations for but that was my fault the sauce was nice but the guy sharing out the food gave me three pieces of meat with bare bones barely any meat on the chicken. It did not fill me and I wasn’t satisfied sorry to say.
Always drove past this place. Always appealed to me. Decided to give in. Atmosphere and inside was clean and inviting. A wide array of dishes. Decided to buy jerk chicken with lots of jerk sauce. Was a mistake. Chicken was cold and burnt. Sauce was extra sweet and insipid. A waste of space. All that jerk hut on the outside should be housing a jerk drum where people get jerk chicken straight off the grill.
I’ve been waiting to try since it opened. Very excited since its just up the block from me. It was not worth the wait. The service was ok but I felt rushed to order my food even though I told them several times I was still deciding. They were polite but I felt the attitude. The food is average. The oxtails was tender but I’ve had better. The curried goat also ok a little oily, but might have been better if I actually got some meat on the plate. Nothing but fat and bones with like 3 or 4 pieces of actual meat. I was tight. If I hadn’t already undressed….problems!!….not going back though, 50 bucks wasted…live and learn.
I spent $40 for nothing, it was trash!!!!
I’m a licensed certified chef ,you don’t bake jerk chicken,that should be grilled and then overpowering the chicken with sauce to hide its poor quality.I also tried the curry shrimp with white rice and steam veggies,the rice had hard grains in it,the shrimp had heat to it but no flavor .
I’d give it 1,000 stars if I could. It’s incredible. I feel like I’m on an island when I pull up and never want to leave. The food is incredible.
