Food was excellent! Atmosphere was nostalgic for me. It teleported me back into my childhood having a meal in my great grandmother’s kitchen. A time when love was put into every bite.
Love this welcoming, airy, unpretentious space, and the warm staff. Try the yummy sweet hibiscus tea, succulent fried catfish, cheddary “smack mac n cheese” and sauteed cabbage with a kick.
Parking can be a pain and the kitchen isn’t super fast, but one bite and you won’t care a whit.
NOT veg-friendly.
Just placed an order & when I say the lady who takes the order is absolutely fantastic! She made sure to call me and assure me of what I’m getting & sounded so sincere on the phone ! I didn’t get to taste the food yet but I’m sure once I get , I’ll be ordering again! Etc once the food come , I’ll give an update !
Update! The food is good ! Seasoned just right ! The ribs fall of the boneeeee ! Deff deserved the 5star rating ! Will b coming back
To steal the phrase my husband used, Suga Foot’s Soul Kitchen serves home cooking as it should be. This is soul food at its finest. Everything we ordered was delicious, cooked and seasoned expertly and served in perfect portions. They have the best cornbread, and I could easily drink a gallon of their watermelon mint cooler. Highly recommend, and we will be eating here again.
The oxtails were absolutely phenomenal. They were seasoned to perfection and falling off the bone as other reviews have stated. The ambiance was nice and the service was wonderful. You can tell a lot of love and care goes in to the food here which is very special. I’ll certainly be returning when I’m back in town.
