5 Reviews on “Christie s On the Lake”
Enjoyed this place in the early afternoon for a late lunch. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There when you needed them and left you alone when you didn’t. I just had a salad and wished that they a better selection. The lake salad is pretty simple but good. Not as big as I would have liked, but not small either. I added steak and that was cooked to perfection. Good choice for a water front afternoon.
Food was OK. The reason they lost points with me is because the waitress was absolutely awful. You are in a vibrant environment where everyone is drinking and having a good time and the waitress had the sense of humor of a dead person. I am very big on the customer service experience because it’s what gets me back at the table. Mich Ultra were $6 a pop and Long Island set me back $12. Great view and great seating but the waitress really didn’t help. Would I return? If I could get a different waitress, MAYBE, but not my first choice for sure.
Service fantastic! Good cheap, frozen, fare. The crab cake tasted like it was in the freezer too long or at the wrong temp. Paid extra for French fries and rhey were like tatertots shaped into a fry. Oh well Great Lake views and attentive service. We are passing through so don’t need to worry about whether we’d come back.
Can’t review this place because we were turned away by the hostess at 8:40pm July 9, 2024 because they “just closed.” My family of four had just gotten off the Minne HaHa boat tour and we were all starving and excited to eat “on the lake.” They suggested we go next door to the Lagoon which wasn’t welcoming either, but at least they served us. We’ve been waiting all week on our vacation to try this restaurant but now we’ll skip it and try something else down the strip. I guess the 2am close time is for the bar only.
The food was mediocre at best, especially for the price. Someone mentioned frozen, and that is a distinct possibility. My wife ordered the fish and chips and both the fish and French fries were dried out and tough as though they had been in freezer for too long. I had the pulled pork BBQ sandwich and it lacked much flavor. We should have checked the ratings before going there. It was also unbearably hot inside. A couple of ceiling fans with no A/C despite being almost 90 degrees outside. Sat and sweated the whole time.
