I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of Perkins Restaurant & Bakery at Balmville. Stoped there in the midst of a trip to upstate NY. We only had slices of pie: homemade apple pie and pumpkin. Both were tasty not too sweet and with a good dough and filling.
My waitress was really nice and the food was good. Had breakfast potatoes sunny side up eggs and toasted banana nut muffin
We ordered fish and chips and added shrimp. The shrimp was a little burned. My sister ordered meatloaf and mashed potatoes, I was not a fan. My brother in laws put roast was really good.
Whenever I want breakfast after 11 a.m., I know perkins will always come through. We had a big party of 10 on this trip. Our waitress was awesome and hustled to make sure everything was great, from refilling drinks to getting the food served. I got the French toast stack. It was very good with the perfect amount of cinnamon on it. It comes with 2 eggs and bacon, which was cooked just how I like it, and I added toast onto it. It was more than enough food. Everyone else’s meal was very good. We also got fried pickles and mozzarella sticks for appetizers, and they also were very good and a nice portion. Overall, this Perkins has always been good to me with quality food and service
Walking into Perkins Restaurant & Bakery was as gentle and pleasant as when one wakes up from an interesting and inspiring dream. The place is simple yet beautiful. The energy is quite welcoming just like the energy of really good friends! It was a fine experience! Thank you to the entire staff for cultivating such pleasant and warm place!
