The interior decoration was nice but way too many tables for the size of the restaurant. The wait staff was prompt and polite but I had a hard time communicating when I was ordering. They brought out complimentary fried noodles (chips) and a pot of hot tea. Enough to keep ourselves busy waiting for food. My son and I both ordered General Tso’s Chicken from dinner combination menu and pork fried rice. It came with a egg drop soup, egg roll, chicken and choice of rice. The egg drop soup was too salty. I am used to very light egg drop soup. The General chicken was ok. The chicken wasn’t crispy which I prefer and the sauce was little bit watery. I think perfect generals chicken is crispy and sauce that’s sticky with strong flavor. The fried rice had a good smoky flavor but I felt that it needed more sauce. The fried rice was perfect when you had pieces of pork but there wasn’t too many pork. The serving size for each dish was plenty. I couldn’t finish my food. I would think that the price is on medium side with average dish costing around $12 to $15. I probably wouldn’t come here again because of the cost and taste of the dish.

Best Chinese food. Love the boneless ribs. You get soup and an egg roll with your order. They serve a decent portion of meat, not like other places that you get a lot of rice and little meat. Prices are great very reasonable for all the good quality tasty food you receive. You can dine in or order for take-out.

The food here was amazing. For an Asian restaurant, I found they cook differently but delicious. Food did not bloat. The atmosphere is homey. I will go there again.
Fortune Garden offers pretty good Chinese food at a great price. Their lunch special is my go-to choice, combining quality and affordability. It’s a reliable spot for those looking for tasty Chinese cuisine without breaking the bank. Overall, a solid option for a satisfying and budget-friendly meal.
Despite a slight hiccup with the sesame chicken being a bit burnt, the staff at Fortune Garden impressed me by offering a replacement without any fuss. Growing up in Brooklyn, I’m accustomed to the opposite reaction, so their quick and accommodating response stood out. It’s reassuring to experience such customer service, turning a minor issue into a positive interaction.
A staple in the community for years and it shows with its quality and service!
Every time we dine at Fortune Garden, it is consistently amazing! The prices are great for the portions, whether it’s takeout or dine in the service is always great, and the taste and flavors of whatever dish you get is going to be phenomenal!
Our go to dishes are General Tso’s Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Scallion Pancakes, Broccoli in Garlic Sauce, and of course a fried rice of our choosing! You really can’t go wrong with anything though!
I really hope Fortune Garden continues to thrive and provide Rockland with the top notch Chinese food we’ve grown accustomed to!
