I miss China House so much! I cook regularly, but when I’m sick or far too tired to cook I could order from them and trust that the quality and taste of my food would be on point. They were consistent. Apparently, they closed during the pandemic. When I called their number Elegant Chinese picked up the call saying they are the same thing. I ordered hopeful that maybe they had the same chef or something. Big mistake. They are definitely not the same thing. The food to me is bland and tasteless. The fried chicken and rice is tasteless and the quality is lacking. I also tried their chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce as it is my daughter’s favorite. She’s five and only took two bites before pushing it aside saying it tastes bad. If elegant is indeed related to the owners of china house in anyway you should hire their old chef/cook and borrow some of their high quality business practices. Like actual containers with lids instead of putting saucier dishes in cardboard cartons that become a mess during delivery.
Some of their dishes can be a little on the oily side, and I’ve noticed that their Sweet and Sour Chicken somehow has a taste very reminiscent of Popeye’s, but all in all Elegant has some tasty, consistent food at decent prices. Excellent food service and the authentic deliciously delivered Chinese food with 100 percent satisfaction. Professional and respected by me and many bringing extraordinary mouth watering dishes of authentic Chinese food served in a hygienic, professionally, and friendly service. Grateful to all the staff and owners…thank you for being there Elegant!
The best Chinese food since I was a child! Very friendly and courteous to customers and not stingy at all with food portions. Every time I come back up to visit New York, getting food from here is a must!
