I had the stuffed pork chop, baked potato and broccoli. The Pork chop was ok. They did have good pizza and bread.

I absolutely loved the pizza here. I was out of town and didn’t have it for a year. I’m getting ready to start a strict diet so I told my husband I had to have their pizza. Let’s just say I won’t miss it. The crust was so dry and flavorless and it was stuck to the box. And the sauce had a heavy tomato taste. It was so disappointing and sad. I don’t know what changed but it’s too bad it did. 😢

A cute and quaint Italian restaurant in the heart of Rome. This charming eatery raves about its homemade fresh pasta and brick oven pizzas. The reality is these desirable qualities are all an Italian facade to cover up horrendous customer service. Don’t get me wrong the wait staff there is truly amazing! Our server was cheerful and a joy to have. However the over two hour wait for a mediocre pasta dish was no where close to worthwhile. My family had a 5 pm reservation and after having our orders placed by 5:30 we had a delightful conversation while waiting for dinner. So delightful that we didn’t realize that it was after 7 pm by the time the food came. My brother in law’s alfredo arrived congealed and my dish arrived without the side of vegetables that was claimed to be served over. This side was six green beans. Needless to say that these greens were exactly what the rest of the meal looked like. A flat piece of chicken over maybe a cup of pasta. Not really what I was expecting for an over $20 price tag. I can let the price per plate go, but when we brought up to the service staff that we were unhappy with the length of the wait, the owner stormed over and had an argument with us claiming this was standard service and waived there reservation book in our faces. We watch sever parties receive food and leave before we got ours. Not sure that this level of standard is where I want to be spending my money. And no restaurant that can keep customers at a table waiting for 3 hours is truly busy.

Absolutely wonderful experience! We have celiac disease and this restaurant accommodated our request (and our 13-person walk in at 6:30pm) with the utmost respect and sincerity. We had both gluten free and non gluten free pastas and pizza. Their desserts are AMAZING too! Wine was reasonably priced. I would recommend this place to people that are gluten free, have kids, large groups …everyone!

I have always loved this place, and my wife as well. We used to go all the time, so tonight we said, “hey, we haven’t been to DiCastro’s in a while”, so we went for dinner.

Well tonight was a bit of a disappointment. The food took over an hour to come out, but our server was very attentive. It was moderately busy, but the wait was long enough to notice other people that arrived at the same time as us at get served, finish eating, the table cleared, and a new party seated before our food came out.

And usually when there is an extended wait, that usually means one thing – someone’s food is going to be cold. Mine was brought to the table first, obvious that it was sitting waiting for my wife’s to be plated. Hers was very hot, I’m happy to say, but the chicken RIGGIES were made with penne…ok, that’s fine, I guess. But the sauce had these little clumps of a doughy substance – almost dumpling-like…and after tasting one of these clumps, it was pretty clear that these were probably leftover from the roux (butter and flour mixture) often used to thicken sauces. It was not incorporated completely into the sauce, and so there were these lumps throughout making the sauce very bland.

It was pricey, but that seems to be everywhere. I don’t fault them for that. I have no issues paying for dining out. The only thing that bugged me a little was 3.50 for a golf ball sized meatball…

So maybe the other reviews are correct, maybe not, but to me, this place is still a good one, IMO, but it seems like issues in the kitchen are hurting them, based on my experienceand the other reviews. I’ll be back at some point hoping it was just a tough night in the kitchen.
