Delighted to have such an authentic Izakaya open nearby! We’ve been hunting for yakitori with yuzu koshu for more than a decade! Can’t find it outside of Japan until now. The food was delicious. We loved all the skewers, okinomiyaki and karate. Great beers + sake flights means we’ll be regulars
The food is SO good!!! The people working there are SO nice. We had an amazing time trying different skewers and everyone was delicious. Lots of choices on the menu, we took our time and ordered a few different plates. The lemonade, by the way, was delicious, sweet, but not too sweet❤️
Can’t wait to return!
One thing to keep in mind, this part of the restaurant is on the second floor. There are stairs leading up to it. It’s a small place, but if there’s a wait, it will be worth the wait.
A very small izakaya to have a nice dining experience. The food was good but nothing outstanding. I was served by a kind waiter so I do not have any complaints about the service. They have very limited seating so be careful if you plan to bring a large party. One thing they need to fix is the bathroom door lock. There is a small button that is supposed to lock the door when you press it, but as hard as I tried the door would not lock. Hopefully they replace the lock with a more standard one that actually works….avoid the bathroom if you plan on coming here!

Service was great! Food was great! We definitely over ordered for two but who cares! It was that delicious and closes we’d get to being back in Japan. Highly recommend Tamashii Izakaya
The yaki chicken and other combo were just microwave. The Tsekemen was dry and hard even after put into noodle for a minute or two. The ramen came with Chinese topping instead of Japanese. I told the manager I knew about the dish and she spent a few minutes arguing with me about the Tsekemen and finally unwillingly canceled that under cook dish. They just skipped too many steps to make their food. They really lack “Tamashii” (soul) for their food, service, and environment. Put away Chinese poster if you want to create a Japanese environment.
