Whenever I visit Long Island! NY I have to go and grab a plate from Jamaica Grand Restaurant… 😍 it’s a cozy takeout place that serves a variety of Jamaican dishes❤️
I ordered two plates: a large oxtail plate for me & a red snapper plate for hubby… each plate comes with the option of rice (either rice & peas or white rice), a veggie side (we got cabbage), and sweet plantain 💃🏾, just how I like it & how I remember eating it when I go to Jamaica on vacation 🏝 && you can get two meals out of each plate cuz they fill it up niceee.. 😋
it was one of those foodie days so I had to quench my thirst With sone cucumber lime juice treat myself to one of their desserrs (to share with hubb.. one slice was big enough to share). I got a black Forrest cake sliceee 🍰… everything was delicious and Hubby was happy! 🙏🏾 It was also very affordable compared to other food options in the area 👏🏾 Ill 100% be back again soon!🔥🔥🔥
This is located in a shopping strip. There is a parking lot connected to the establishment. I came here for lunch and it was busy. There are a few seats area. The food is on display, so you can view your option. Also, multiple drinks options are available for purchase. I ordered a small jerk chicken with white rice and oxtail gravy on top. The food was ok. The jerk was not jerking (kind of bland).
I haven’t been here in over 4 years so I decided to have some food. Wow good decision. The food was good so good. I ordered the jerk chicken white meat with beans and rice and the steamed vegetables. So good had enough for next day too. The prices are good and the customer service is good too. Try it you will not regret it.
I wish I had taken a photo of my food when I first opened it. I couldn’t help myself and started devouring, but trust me they really loaded up my plate. I was a bit hesitant paying $21 for a plate of oxtail but it’s absolutely worth it. The flavor is on point. The meat is tender. The cabbage is super delicious and the rice was just OK to me, but it’s the oxtail sauce that makes it super good. I really really enjoyed my meal and this was my first time eating at this place. The guy at the counter who served me was very sweet. Honestly, what a great family run establishment and they deserve your business. I want to come back to try the mac & cheese.
I give four star just because every weekend when I try to get ackee and salt fish it’s finish before 9am , if it sell that fast make more, sometimes am there twice a week just to catch it no luck .The service can be better guys u need to smile so that people feel more welcome.
