Always plenty of seating or the wait is very short. The resturant is well kept. I always look at the ceiling in places and it’s immaculate here. The staff is very attentive and the food is high quality at a reasonable price. My go to is the Colonial with pancakes and scrambled eggs for $13.

This diner is outstanding. The food, the slightly snarky waitress and the atmosphere are all on point.
I ordered the classic Eggs Benedict with home fries. The eggs were beautifully cooked, breaking in a gorgeous runny yellow when cut. The muffin was crispy, but not overdone. The Hollandaise sauce was perfect with just the right amount of lemon.
I haven’t had home fries like this in years! Crispy on the edges, soft and billowy potatoes in the middle, all with translucent onions.
The portion size was exactly l what I wanted. I left full, but not stuffed.
I’m a tea drinker and they understand how to serve tea here. Most diners offer unlimited coffee, but when you ask for a second cup of tea, they usually just bring you a cup of hot water and expect you to reuse the old tea bag.
Not here! Tea was served with two tea bags, a full cup and a pot of hot water. Excellent!
I can’t wait to go back.
Not the best breakfast. Ordered the Truckers Special with Egg whites. Some how the eggs were over cooked & dry on the top, yet undercooked & greasy on the bottom. Overall, neither part tasted particularly good. The toast was ok but not buttered very well. Can see in the picture it is just a small circle in the middle rather than edge to edge. Bacon was good and so was the ham. The sausage was meh and the home fries were not seasoned very well. Tasted more like a cut up baked potato. Do not think I will be back again.
We had the opportunity/honor to visit the New York State in JUN_FY2024 and it was an amazing experience, a great opportunity to learn more about NY’s history and legacy.
We swing by at Colonie Diner, and for sure it’s a remarkable place.
Definitely, it’s a place that deserves my respect. It was a privilege enjoy the amazing food and outstanding atmosphere.
I finally got around to going here & it was worth the wait!! I was there for breakfast & I love the menu selection, had a hard time deciding!! I ended up going with the French Toast breakfast sandwich, it was freaking delicious!! The place is very clean & our server was very friendly & attentive! I’ll definitely be going back to try other menu options!!
