5 Reviews on “Walmart Supercenter”
Automotive center review: I came in early, with no appointments scheduled until 9:00 (as told by the older male employee). There were literally no cars there, but he denied my service and said he couldn’t get to my car for another four hours. Bizarre. He was rude, sarcastic, and obviously preferred a certain race over others. He then told me I could set an appointment for an oil change online but proceeded to set one for me on his computer. I’ve come to this Walmart multiple times and have never had an issue or encounter like this one, nor have I ever had to set an appointment for an oil change. I will never return here for any service.
This Walmart, I think, is a bit better than your run-of-the-mill Walmart. It’s never over busy, and they do a good job of keeping things stocked (most of the time).
My only major complaint is the checkout experience. I’m all for the self checkout as I can get things set out and then bagged the way I want. I work late afternoons/evenings, so I’m usually there between 8:30 and 10:30.
Now they have, I believe, 5 of the regular sized self checkout aisles. The same size as the ones that have a cashier. All the cashiers are gone, of course, but they also shut down the big self checkout aisles as well. That leaves the tiny ones only. The ones that have room for maybe 8-10 items, depending on the size of said items.
I do all the grocery shopping for the wife and I, so I may have 25-40 items on any given trip. So it’s impossible to unload my cart before I start scanning things. So I have to pack that little shelf area with whatever I can get to balance there, and then rearrange the stuff in the cart to make room for the bagged groceries. Then repeat until complete.
Of course it’s not the end of the world, but it is a pain in the arse, and it pretty much doubles my checkout time. And since there are no aisles with cashiers available, there’s no other choice.
What’s the reasoning behind this? Save money having to pay fewer employees? I don’t think so, because at least half the time there are two, sometimes three employees standing right there, talking amongst themselves.
I even tried going there one day around 2:00 pm, and still, the large self checkout aisles were all closed. If Walmart is going to force their customers to check themselves out, the very least they could do is to make as convenient as reasonably possible.
There’s an awesome Publix just down the road that I love to shop at. Problem is it will cost me ~ 30% more to do that. And on $200-$250, that adds up in a hurry!
So, Walmart, please keep the large checkout aisles open for your customers. No matter who you are, time is money for us all.
I wanted a water pick today. I waited in the aisle for 10+ mins. I looked and tried to call someone to help me, however here I am, waterpick-less, since we can’t get them out of the locked aisle for whatever reason everything is locked. I’m a paying customer. I just want clean teeth. I’ll just take my business elsewhere. Thanks for nothing.
Sincerely,
Nasty teeth
It’s Walmart and the employee’s are lazy. Certain locations are better than others but they all need to make workers actually work. If I want to check myself out I’ll order online and shop Amazon. Get sorry workers off their phone or fire them simple
Never thought I’d leave a review for Walmart, but it’s worth it for the Chelsea location. This is my preferred store over Calera, Alabaster, and 280. It’s easy to park, and everyone who shops/works here is friendly. I’m currently too pregnant to be able to shop for an hour and lift heavy groceries on my own, so I tried pickup. I had a great experience using it for the first time and plan on doing another one before the baby arrives. I placed a same day order; they were fast and courteous, selected fresh items, and I didn’t notice anything missing. This Walmart is also always well stocked and clean. I use the Walmart app every time I do go in for a better shopping experience and ease of navigation.
