We ate dinner here in December for my birthday. We had high expectations given the executive chef’s reputation, and hence, my star rating reflects this. The overall value for the food is average as I was expecting better. We came when later in the evening and were disappointed to learn that the two main fish options were not available that evening.
I ordered the pork chop, and it was a decent portion and cooked correctly – tender and flavorful. However the brussel sprouts were an after thought in preparation. They actually seemed liked they just scraped what was remaining and served them.
My husband ordered the salmon. It was small, and lacking flavor, though we were told this was one of the best dishes. The rice, however, was the bright spot in this dish and made the fish palatable. My son ordered the best item, the Snapper Sandwich. We ordered grilled and it was a large portion. That was the item we were most pleased with. The brussel sprouts appetizer was also a delight with a great combination of flavors and nice portion.
Atmosphere was nice, and service was good but not exceptional. I’m glad there is a nicer restaurant in Dothan that is not a chain. Our first visit was okay so we’d definitely need a good reason to come back.
Jennifer was the BEST! The food is the best place around. We went on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was lively but not crowded. Everything we ate was incredible.
The Mahi was the best I’ve ever had. Nice smoked flavor. The bee’s knees is also very good. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Very romantic candlelight dinner. Unfortunately they did not have the chocolate dessert. It must have been good because they were sold out of it.
We had the pork steak, quail, ocra fries, grits, deviled eggs, and butter pecan cookies. Everything was excellent !
Our server, James, was very attentive, had great recommendations, and was enjoyable to chat with. We will definitely go back…

We happen to be in town for a wedding and had to bring our puppy, Gracie. The staff were so sweet, friendly, and accommodating. The food was wonderful. We went back for a second day and it was great food and atmosphere. I totally recommend if you’re in town!
