5 Reviews on “Panera Bread”
I’ve always loved the vibe and food of Panera and enjoy my Lexington, SC location. However, the owner/or corporate of the *NEW* COLUMBIA/HARBISON please read your reviews and FIX the common complaints before this new location goes down hill and feels like it’s in a bad area with lazy employees you’d find in a BK/Mc Donald’s. I’m attaching a couple of pictures of the outside that seem to capture the lack of interest of the franchise owner. Today I ordered at the kiosk for a rapid p/u. I stood several minutes by the p/u area with my name on the board stating my order was ready but nothing there. I watched as several dishes of prepared food were being placed on the counter w/o any names being called, so the food just sat. When I finally asked someone that glanced my way where I was to p/u my cup she then directed me to get into the regular line which was behind people being waited on … mmm 🤔… sort of defeats the rapid p/u kiosk idea. With what’s been mentioned in other reviews not thinking the franchise owner cares so I plan to call corporate tomorrow – maybe they will.
The new location on Harbison is pretty nice- a good size, feels fairly clean, and the drive-through is a nice touch. The food, on the other hand, was nearly inedible- there was frozen chicken on our salads, the soup was bland, the lettuce was going bad, and the bread bowl has definitely shrunk in size over the years. This is not the Panera quality that I am used to and expect. The prices, on the other hand, certainly don’t reflect the downhill quality as they have only continued to go up significantly. I would not waste your time coming here.
First off, I’ll just say that you should not order ahead of time and go through the drive-thru because you’ll probably just end up behind people that just ordered their meal. The people at the window don’t ever seem to tell them to pull up to the pickup area.
Otherwise, honestly I feel like the food isn’t worth the cost and this might be more a point to Panera itself and not this individual location. The sandwich picture below was $13 in total + there’s really not much on it. It tasted okay, just doesn’t seem like it’s worth the cost.
Ordered a whole chicken Greek salad. Got back to the office on the other side of town only to realize they didn’t put the chicken on my salad. Took 15 min to make and missed the main ingredient.
Probably would have gotten a better review had my Mac and cheese came out hot. I sent it back and they tossed it in the microwave to heat it up. It came back out only to have it cold in the center of the food. My family’s food came out okay or so they said.
