I have been buying cakes and pies from Kudzu bakery since they moved to and started their business in Georgetown. Everything is usually delicious but I have noticed the last few times I have been in to get pies that they taste different. Is there a new cook?? I bought a ginger crust lemon chess pie before Christmas and it had almost more crust than filling and it didn’t have much lemon flavor! It kind of had a hint of mayonnaise! So my favorite pie has always been the coconut and I came by and bought a half a pie today. It wasn’t the same! Usually very sweet vanilla custard filling but today it didn’t have that sweet vanilla flavor. It was more of an eggy flavor with a hint of salt. I also confess that I stopped buying your chocolate cake a year ago. I bought one for our family and everyone agreed that it was too salty.

Great lit’l spot to grab a sandwich and freshly baked cookies, cakes, and other delicious baked goods. Kudzu has always been a bit pricey, so inflation has unfortunately added to the cost. Therefore, fair warning.
The staff are friendly and sweet. There are isles to peruse for different foods, knick knacks, and bread. Plenty of parking within the shop area.

My husband absolutely loves Kudzu. I’m originally from Georgetown and when we come home it is a must for me to drive to Litchfield to get him the brownie cheesecake. This trip they were not cutting individual slices so I had to forego getting my preferred choices 😢. However, you will enjoy the experience if you like home made desserts, jams, jellies, and food.

One of my most treasured Pawleys traditions. We used to frequent the shop in Georgetown so long time customers! If you can get there on Wednesday and snag a loaf of the pumpkin bread, you’ll be hooked for life! Everything they make is our favorite – some kinda SC magic happening over there! We love you guys ❤️

Great selection of jams, wines and sweet treats. Tried the cookies – were the right combination of soft inside and crispy on the edges. Went midday and most of the bread appeared sold out.
