I would give less stars if I could. The bakery and deli staff leave a lot to be desired. They don’t acknowledge you standing there. And when they do, they act like you are bothering them or interrupting them. I went about 6 pm to pickup a cake that was ready at 5 pm. No one in the bakery. 4 people in the deli. They clearly saw me standing there. And standing there. And standing there. I finally walked over to the deli. Stood there about 10 minutes before being acknowledged. Finally they spoke to me. I told them why I was there. She said the bakery lady is on break, asked for my name and number, and said she would have her call me. I said I’m not leaving, I am passing through, and have a long drive. She said she would have the lady call me over the speaker when she gets back. I went up to the front to speak to the young manager. He was trying to pass the buck as well. Finally the lady came and I got my cake. Very frustrating. Poor customer service.
I don’t know what has happened to this store. It used to be so pleasant. The checkers were professional, knowledgeable and personable. I just went through the self check. The machine was not working properly. The employee assigned to assist the check out had the worst possible demeanor for that position. I was informed that my actions in checking out caused the issue. That is just not what occurred. My husband had a similar problem previously. Something has changed at this location to cause this change in customer service. I will continue to shop here for quick trips as I live across the road but it will not receive my main expenditures. Sad development as this is the only full grocery in town. DGMarket can expect an increase in business I suppose.
Sometimes you can get a good product at reasonable prices
Of the 5 employees running around the deli, not a single one can wait on the deli counter. They are all busy moving around bags of prepackaged food for the fried chicken dinner bar. And why is this loaf of bread being used this way? Is it to stop water?
The most frustrating thing is when self checkout keeps yelling place your purchase in the bag and they’re impossible to open. Then says call for assistance. Then resets completely while the associate looks the other way. Everyone is rude and obnoxious. I can’t believe this is an Ingles store. I recently complained to the manager and he laughed and kept walking. You also never know whether deli food is going to be taxed 2 or 9%. It appears all the customer oriented employees are gone.
