It’s my second favorite grocery store in downtown Charleston. The employees in the deli, bakery, meat department, pharmacy and cashiers are absolutely superb for the most part. Their sushi selection is great especially for a grocery.
Never have I ever been into a Publix before this trip but I am pleased to say that I will be returning. I do not live in a city that has Publix grocery stores so I was shocked to walk in and discover how pristine it was. The workers were super friendly and the store was exceptionally clean. They offer a wide variety of fresh foods and even some that can be prepared for you. There are work stations throughout the store passing out small tastes of different foods offered there and my children loved it.
Parking out in front is horrendous. They don’t enforce the “no parking” policy at all. People are parked in the road and it’s dangerous with people crossing the street there. They are afraid to tow cars because then people write bad reviews. But now, it’s just a free for all with people parked literally in the street (including the cops).
D’ana at the deli made it very unbearable to work with. Barely talked to you, gave terrible attitude acting like we were a burden making her do her job. But Akeele knew what they were doin, they made sure we got the right toppings while D’ana was off in Lala land. We stood at the deli for 30 min!!! And keep in mind it was only us two at the deli.
Excellent staff! So clean and friendly! We were in town a few weeks great place! Love it definitely recommend!!
