Decided to go to the Morning Rose Cafe while driving to Southhold observatory. Parking was sparse, but easy and the coffee here was strong and flavorful just the way I like it. As a vegetarian the menu doesn’t have many options, and substitutions are discouraged. However everything we had was top notch. The avocado burrata toast was exceptional, and my wife’s Benedict was delicious. The star of the show was a last minute choice to get Smokey Cajun Fries instead of home fries. Wow these Smokey Cajun Fries were something else so much flavor and made perfectly. All and all if you have the extra time to eat quality food Morning Rose Cafe is a great place. I wish they had more vegetarian options, but alas thems the brakes.

First off I wanna say that the wait here is pretty long on weekends. So be prepared to take a good portion out of your morning/day. The staff overall is friendly and joyful. When you are seated they give you complimentary mini muffins with jam. We ended up getting the Biscuits & Gravy, the Crispy Bites and an order of Fries. Let’s start off with the Biscuits & Gravy: the dish comes with FOUR biscuits, sausage gravy, TWO sausage links, TWO eggs and a roasted tomatoe. The biscuits are so fluffy that make the perfect base for the gravy. The gravy lacks no flavor and has plenty of sausage bits. The eggs were perfectly well made and are some of the best eggs I’ve had. The sausage links pair well with the dish. And the additional roasted tomatoe is a nice touch which is well paired with everything on the plate. Now the Crispy Bites are little french toast bites that come with strawberries, blue berries, syrup and whip cream. For my personal palet they could’ve used a bit more of a cinnamon taste, the egg was more of what I could taste. Not overpowering just slightly above of what I would’ve liked. But still and enjoyable and unique dish. The fries were a huge portion and were crispy and fluffy. Now, yes, the prices are…well a bit pricey. BUT you get what you pay for. The portions are huge and the food is great. So for me, the price is justified.

I’ve only been here twice so far. The first time was right when they opened and was seated right away. Food was delicious, the atmosphere was so upbeat and the staff welcoming. This last time I came later in the afternoon. Right away the I could feel how super busy they were, but it was still so upbeat. I waited for about 40min, which I felt fine with since it was a lazy Sunday. But the whole time I was aware of how cheerful and smooth everything was moving. When I got seated, food was still great, although I spied their avocado toast dish and it gave me a moment of envy. I’ll be back for that. The staff was so quick but not in a rush you on your way, pushy way. I want to give kudos to the staff. The food was great experience and I highly recommend their biscuits. As a transplanted southerner, I truly appreciate the moment of biting into the memory of home. On the way out the seating staff remembered my name and reminded me I can reserve my spot on line next time so I can cut the wait time down. I will be coming back.

Waitlist is necessary due to the layout of the place!!! It’s busy but it didn’t feel crowded at all. Staff were extremely friendly! I went with my partner and as soon as we got seated, we were served with complimentary muffins with the tastiest raspberry jam. I ordered eggs Benedict and my partner ordered a turkey melt. For drinks, I got the bottomless iced coffee and my partner was happily sipping on his cranberry mimosa which he also wished to be bottomless. We were looking at everyone’s order and food since everything looked amazing, including our own food 🙂

Wish I could put in 6 outta 5 stars because this place is great! Highly recommend it to those who are looking for a nice breakfast/brunch spot. But before you, you must get yourself on the waitlist and the waitlist time is pretty accurate too.

Was headed to Blue Angels air show but highways were blocked so took a detour here for brunch instead.

Arrived 11 am Saturday and place was full house. Small & cozy restaurant with complimentary mini muffin.

Menu prices reflect inflation in area. Decent portions & good sunlight coming thru windows.

Waited 15 minutes for food. My turkey bacon was burnt & a bit hard. Eggs were small. Potatoes were okay and biscuit was larger.

A bit noisy, feels more of a bar vibe instead of weekend brunch. There are a few outside dining tables .

Too many surcharges for a pleasant dining experience. $4 plate sharing. 20% gratuity for parties 5 plus. 2.5% credit card fee 😅😅

    $55 with a 18% gratuity for 2 breakfast entrees & 1 iced coffee.
