Second visit EVER to Panera. This experience was great! The food was good, service was excellent and the restaurant was clean (including the restrooms). We ordered a sesame bagel, a chocolate chip bagel, a cinnamon crunch bagel and a Spinach, cheese and bacon souffle. Everything was amazing! The honey walnut cream cheese set the bagels off! I would definitely return to this location.
My third and last time ever to visit this train wreck of a whatever. Certainly not a restaurant. No one was at the counter, but they asked me to go to the kiosk instead. I wanted help because I was unfamiliar with their menu. That was my second mistake. After waiting a few minutes, a young lady came out to help me. They were annoyed I did not use the kiosk. I told her I came for the French Onion soup but wanted the soup and sandwich. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, soup and a small drink that was over 3 dollars. They gave me a full sandwich and no soup. They were willing to fix the mistake, but it would require refunding the credit card and reordering then waiting again for the food. I said never mind and just settled for what I got and paid for. I sat down to eat the sandwich and took one bite noticing that it was a lettuce sandwich. It contained about 1/20th chicken of what you would get at the other chain restaurants in Mobile. It was hilarious that they considered that a sandwich. I am old enough to realize when you are beat. I took the lettuce and bread back up to the manager and showed him the “vegetarian” chicken salad sandwich. I just turned around and left. I did not ask for a refund. I not sure they could have handled it! Oh my 1st mistake was to walk in there in the first place.
I tried to share my experience with the manager before posting online. All he would say is “thank you for your feedback” but I don’t think it matters. The customer service is so bad I can’t go back. The lady at the front is very rude and is always flustered, even if you order just loaf of bread. The only reason she keeps her job is because that place is about to go out of business and she’s the only one that will show up every day to that trash heap. I have witnessed her be rude to other customers and employees over the years. I won’t be going back but it won’t matter. They can’t continue business with a dirty restaurant and a rude employees. This place needs a lot of changes.
Not a great choice. Tables, booths, walls dirty and stained. Beverage bar sloppy with spilled drinks. Table with high chair which was extremely dirty with food trash on the chair and floor was never cleaned the whole time we were there and it was not busy. Would not recommend and will not return for the price. All self service now from ordering, to paying, to picking up, and taking to trash when finished. Why too much much for what you get now.
5 stars for food. 1 star for service bc they refused to serve us- we had to use the kiosk, which is usually fine, except when you want extras or substitutions.
