5 Reviews on “Tony s Pizza Shop”
Have been going to Tony’s since I was in grade school. Has always been consistent in their products. I especially love their fried dough!
This place seems shady. I made an order for about $75 in food. When I show up I’m told they only accept cash but I can use THEIR atm machine for a fee… we live in a digital age! So you’re gonna charge me a fee electronically to access my money from an atm but can’t accept card payments?! Sounds more like you’re trying to hide profits to avoid paying taxes yet you want to tax me lol…. Shady! I won’t ever order food here again!
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. They wouldn’t dress the fingers for my salad and said it would be 45 minutes for 2 salads. It’s Thursday and they are SALADS. They are served in thin cardboard to go boxes that soak up the moisture from the lettuce etc… my box broke and my salad fell on the floor. Disappointed is an understatement. And CASH ONLY? It’s 2024. Every single restaurant I know of takes card. Evading taxes or…? Either way, shame on Tony’s Pizza. Won’t be returning. Sad because I used to get their pizza as a kid a lot and even that has gone down hill.
Ok, so I need to give you some context for this review. I am from Pittsburgh, my wife is from Akron. We live in Pittsburgh. Being together 13 years i have had pizza and wings from all over the Buffalo NY area when we visit family. With that being said I can say Tonys medium wings are the best in western NY, yes better than Anchor Bar and Duffs. When we visit Akron I have to have these wings! NOW with that said, here is the reality, they are very expensive, and their pizza is maybe average at best. My wife likes the calzones, i just want the wings. So in the end I cant reccomend the pizza, however the medium wings, and i stress medium, are the best around, expensive, yes, but well worth it in my opinion.
Tried their pizza for the first time yesterday and will definitely return again for another. It’s a family owned business that’s been around for a long time, the type I like to support. Fresh dough, a traditional pizza oven, and just the right amount of everything, prepared by hand. Also enjoyed my conversation with the polite gentleman that took my order and made the pizza. The best part is I fed my family without dirtying a plate at home for five dollars per person, with leftovers. Can’t beat that!
