We really liked the drinks – their riff on an Old Fashioned I really liked, especially the cherry. The current drink special was a Mayflower – kinda sweet but nice.
The Utica greens we didn’t think we’re anything special – and ours were a bit gritty/crunchy. The Chopped Cheese sandwich we both liked a lot!
The food was great – the prices, not so much. The service wasn’t great either – not an unkind server, but one that wasn’t saying the right things when he rarely attended to our table. Not a terrible experience, honestly, and the food really was good… but for the price and the lack of professional service, I’ll choose to eat elsewhere. However, if you have patience and don’t mind spending a premium penny, you should give Dove + Deer a shot – maybe you’ll have a better experience.
Great atmosphere! The entire space is beautiful and you can tell that every detail was accounted for right on down to the soap in the bathrooms. Definitely my new “go to” place!
Had a ‘Tommy Boy’ sandwich. It was very well prepared. Nicely toasted bread with tasty ingredients. Service was excellent.
We had a large party come to Dove and Deer for a special occasion. They are able to accommodate a big group if you call ahead. Everyone was very happy with their food, drinks and service. One dish took a long time to come out and they comped it for us. The wait staff was very pleasant. Couldn’t have had a better experience!
