5 Reviews on “Mr. Fuji Sushi Albany”
Mr. fuji , quaint neighborhood Japanese restaurant , food is tasty, fresh and generous size portions, sushi or sashimi always fresh ,shrimp tempura light and airy. Wish they would offer fresh Wasabi in the future, staff is professional and friendly and always try to accommodate customers request. You won’t be disappointed with this little gem.
Came here on a Thursday for lunch, we were seated promptly and each of us ordered the lunch roll special. The sides listed on the menu are not what come with it (i was expecting to have a choice of edamame and another appetizer, plus a choice of soup or salad, what i got was soup and salad with no other choices). I ordered the spicy tuna roll and spicy salmon roll, rather than being sushi with spicy sauce on top the fish was minced in with ???. Seemed like filler and not like alot of fish. The rolls were also smaller. For the price it was a good value but I think next time I’ll try sashimi so I can get real (not minced or mixed) fish! The speed we were served means im definitely willing to give this place another try!
I am not an avid fan of sushi, yet liked the food here. I took the lunch item on the menu. It was served with miso soup and salad.
Been coming here and ordering take out for the last three years I’ve been in the area. I’ve never been disappointed. Sushi is fresh always and the hibachi is great. The staff is really attentive and friendly too. I would recommend the teriyaki lunch specials or any of the special rolls. The udon bowls are great too.
Went for date night here. Generally don’t write reviews but had to for this one. Service started off very good and then it went downhill from there. Service disappeared right after we ordered. The manager/owner idk who it was approached us to ask if we were done just 15 minutes after we started. The sushi itself was very sloppy. The cuts on Salmon Lover wasn’t done well and in fact there was no seaweed for a couple of cucumber hand rolls. The avocado rolls were very sloppy as well. We decided to not tip the place and right at the exit, we got heckled by the manager on not leaving a tip. He said it’s customary to leave a 15% tip and it’s not nice to not leave one regardless of how the food is. Went on for almost 10 minutes by the entrance. He said they expect all customers to leave a tip which is absurd. Coming from the service industry, I usually tip 15-20% but this experience wasn’t worth it. In fact, not sure why they expected a tip when it wasn’t mandatory, a tip is optional!!!!
