As far as Buffalo institutions go the Anchor Bar is one of the most well known. So we decided to check it out -for the very first time and see what it is like.
This is a place that is popular with sports fans, who enjoy wings, pizza, and other sports watching meals like that.
We ordered a variety of ‘classics’ from the menu – to get the real “Anchor Bar” experience.
Wings, Beef on Weck, buffalo beefsteaks, etc.
While everything was fine – it was not great.
The wings are way too overcooked, making them dry and crunchy.
The beef on weck – was not what I remember as a kid growing up near Buffalo. It was bland and unexciting.
The buffalo cheesesteak was fine – maybe the best thing we ordered.
The boneless chicken tenders were fine – smothered in sticky sauce.
The Fries were also overcooked and dry.

Music was really loud – and made it difficult to have a conversation.

Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She ensured our drinks were always full.
It may be a. Buffalo landmark, but Unfortunately, this meal was not worthy of a repeat visit.

I loved it!! I ordered a different kind of wing than I usually had so I wasn’t used to that flavor, but it was GOOD!!! You can really tell how good checking out our dinner photo. 🤣 I had a buffalo chicken sandwich. It was good sized, great flavor, fresh veggies in it. The bread was excellent!! Sis got a club sandwich which was HUGE!! Both were served with potato chips. And that is why my food rating doesn’t have 5 stars, fries were $2/3 extra to sub. Nephew had cheese pizza which smelled amazing, even thoufh.i don’t like pizza. We sat in the bar, had excellent service, and the nephew won a few toys from the claw machine!! Definitely recommend visiting the Anchor Bar!!!

Food was good, wings were great. Have to stop for Buffalo wings in Buffalo. Their spicy options are pretty good, hot and hot parmesan are quite tasty. Their fryer for chicken wings is gluten free, however their fries are not. They served the sandwich with chips, which were not very fresh and I am positive were ruffles. It was nice of them to split the wings order into two flavours.

There is nothing special about the buffalo wings sauce. The wings themselves had inconsistent and VERY dry meat. Both medium buffalo sauced and cajun dry rub.

Our server seems unexperienced and not too friendly. Floors were sticky

After tax and tips, the meal was over priced and not a great experience. We just ordered 50 wings and 3 drinks, and it totalled $179CAD. My card doesn’t have foreign fee.

Save your money and buy frozen buffalo wing from the supermarket.

Place is very nice. Ambience is super cool.
Food was okay. Nothing special and not worth the money; not even the wings they claim to be the best. Burger okay, salad meh and quesadilla boring, no flavour with little filling. I don’t recommend this location for eating these dishes mentioned above. Good luck with something else.
