This restaurant is our biggest go to in Troy downtown. Need a place to get away during the farmer’s market or a place to people watch while you eat? This is that place. Need a hot cup of soup on a cold winter evening? Come here. Want speciality French press brewed coffee for a very low price? You’ll definitely find that here.
Not only is the food absolutely delicious and made with the same quality every time, their coffees and teas are absolutely perfect. Highly recommend any of the salads, sandwiches, or crepes. If you’re looking for a more fancy experience you can get the tower pairing with multiple options for each tier (worth it!).
Overall the service provided is fast and the food sometimes comes out even before you get your drinks! The only thing I would say would help improve the experience is if every table that was served was provided with water and refills by default – feels sometimes like you have to explicitly ask for water or more water.
The interior is comfy and if you’re lucky to sit in room with the natural light you’ll even get some people watching in! There is a back dining area which feels and looks a bit disconnected from the rest of the establishment, which I wish they would remodel to make it feel homier. Bathrooms feel a bit dated and I wish they’d re-do the signs to make it acceptable for any person to use any of the two bathrooms available.
Delicious, and the crepes are huge! The towers are $20 (plus optional upgrades) and the scones come with preserves and sweet cream that are absolutely delicious. I love the expansive drink menu. Perfect for brunch
The teas here are exquisite and there are so many flavors available! I love that they have these perfect sample size bags so you can try a bunch without committing to a huge bag. You’ve got to do their afternoon or breakfast tea service; there are so many options for courses and they’re all delicious. You’ll leave full and happy. Come stay eat chat and catch up with a friend and then choose some yummy teas to take home.
I’m was extremely impressed with the Whistling Kettle and their menu! It’s much larger than it appears to be and has a lot of room and seating available. The environment is a good vibe with good people enjoying themselves. The atmosphere is very nice and creatively well done displaying their very extensive variety of teas and accessories available. The staff is very nice and friendly. They are extremely helpful and polite. You will be seated right away and offered something to drink as well as menus. They will not wait long to check back in on you and make sure you are catered to promptly at all times. The food and the menu was highly impressive offering a variety of creative, tasty and awesome soups, sandwiches, wraps, salads, smoothies, and other beverages and food items. You can purchase them individually, as a meal or as a group offered on a 3 plated tier conveniently designed to feed a group of people without taking up too much room. The food was surprisingly very tasty and delicious! The items are priced very reasonably and affordable. I was thoroughly impressed and very ecstatic with everything about this quaint and classy restaurant! Will come again and again and recommend to anyone!
Our group of six went here after the Troy music hall in the afternoon. The waiter accommodated us with more comfortable seating ; getting an extra table for room..he was courteous and attentive to all our needs and orders were precise. The Turkey Avocado sandwich that several of us ordered was the best sandwich I have had in years. Maybe ever. The lobster bisque was delicious!! The scone I tasted was so perfect and flavorful but I was too full to eat it. It will be breakfast tomorrow. I can hardly wait! This luncheon was a delightful treat and I speak for all of us!!
