My SO and I tried this place for a weekday date night after getting a recommendation from a friend. I got the oxtail, which I loved despite it being expectedly pricey, and he got the goat curry, which he thought was decent. He can be a bit pickier than me though. I didn’t appreciate that my plantains were on the cold side but this is more of a takeout place so I forgive it. I took our leftovers and enjoyed them later. I’ll be back here to try other food items and the oxtail again. 😋
Hubby and I gave this place a try for the first time. It was a hit. I had the oxtail plate and he had the curry goat plate. We are foodies and this place was DELICIOUS!!! We will be back. I took pics of our food but in the pic our food is half eaten!!! 🤣🤣🤣
We will return very soon!!
This is a positive review. I arrived at Jerk Kingz in Baldwin, LI at approximately 1120am. I ordered two meals med jerk chicken, rice peas and med curry chicken and cabbage dinners) for take out (pictured). The staff was welcoming, polite and friendly. The location ambience pleasantly quiet, clean, and colorful. There was indoor and out door seating available. Parking available right in front of the establishment. The pricess were the standard prices per dish. The dishes were seasoned well, well portioned, and fresh. I live near by and plan to visit again. If your looking for a caribbean dish, I recommend Jerk Kingz.
The food was incredible. Perfect level of spiciness and blend of flavors. I’ve found it’s almost impossible to get good Caribbean food on Long Island without driving into Queens. This place eliminates that problem. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend it and will becoming back.
Each time I visit this place I’m reminded why I don’t want to return. I ordered jerked chicken, the young lady asked me what did I want with it. I asked her what are my options, she said white rice, rice and peas or Rasta pasta. I ordered Rasta pasta and jerked chicken, then a jerk pork with rice and peas and a beef patty. She asked what kind of gravy with the jerk pork, so I said oxtail. This is supposed to be the lunch special. So I was very surprised when the total was $42.00. I said why is it so high . When I checked I realized that I was charged one price for the Rasta pasta and a separate additional price for the jerked chicken even though they served it in one container as a meal, then to add insult to injury I was charged .50 cents for the gravy. Then each question I asked her. She responded with a condescending “yesss Maaam,” in between the personal conversation she was having with her ear buds in. The patty was cold, I don’t know what temperature they keep it at. Love my people but……..Neva again. Fooled me once shame on you but for me to allow you to keep fooling me over and over, shame on me. The food isn’t even that great. You are in a predominantly white neighborhood, with all that competition you need to bend over backwards with your customer service and stop nickel and dime your customer. You have a big pot of gravy you are going to throw out at the end of the day and you are charging customers for 2 spoons of gravy. SHAME ON YOU
