I plan trips around Bbq joints, and I can unequivocally say that Old Fields is the very best I’ve ever had on Long Island!! Perfectly smoked pork ribs I could only get in Texas, TN, or parts of GA/SC. The coleslaw was delicious, too!! I may go back today for the brisket! OUTRAGEOUSLY perfect!!!

I got the ribs, cornbread, mac n cheese, sweet potatoes and potatoes. This is my favorite restaurant in Huntington. The ribs have flavor allllll the way through and perfect tenderness. The cornbread is a little on the moister side, like I prefer. No butter needed. The sweet potatoes are a little extra sweet with a pecan crumble that gives it a crunch. Mac and cheese was like classic quality mac and cheese. Potatoes were my least favorite, still good but nothing in particular stood out about them. Overall amazing.

Old Fields Barbeque in Huntington was really great! We went on a Friday night and sat by the bar, the atmosphere was nice and vibey.

I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich with a side of Steak Fries and Beer Battered Onion Rings. Honestly, steak fries on general are not my favourite style of fry, but it’s what they had, and it was actually nice, I liked these ones.

My friends shared the Pulled Pork, Baby Back Ribs, Corn Bread, a salad (I forget the name, sorry), beans with brisket bits, and also some extra rolls for the Pulled Pork. (See photos)

The Fried Chicken Sandwich was delicious, it had slightly too much coleslaw for me, but other than that the chicken itself was crunchy on the outside and so moist on the inside! The Buffalo sauce also added a nice heat that builds up as you go through the sandwich 👌🏻

I tasted my friends’ food as well, the pulled pork was nice and tasty, the corn bread was a little dense, and the ribs were amazing!

Set up is a bit confusing you have to order at the register in the back, once your order is in you get a table number and can pick a table. We had a baby with us and felt like the whole set up was a bit challenging to navigate with a small child, we wanted to have a seat first and grab a high chair and then decide what to eat. It’s a casual spot, had a pub feel to it for me. They have an extensive drink menu. Food was good, the meats especially. We had the ribs and brisket and the fried chicken, ribs and brisket definitely winners here. The coleslaw was a bit too tart for me but my partner liked it. Fries and Mac and cheese were good. The cornbread looked like it would taste better than it actually did. Service was ok. Overall probably a great place for small groups but overall not a child friendly place (there were no changing tables in the restroom and the whole seat yourself after you order thing). $100 for two adults for lunch but we definitely had leftovers to take for lunch the next day!

I want to love this place I love bbq and southern food. I haven’t been here in a while so I thought I’d stop by give it another try when they opened for a late lunch. First off, it’s very dark in there should be lighter you can barely see walking up to order as this place is cafeteria style, you walk up see the food and order from the people working the station but you go to your seat with a number than a server appears for drink orders and delivers your food. So I was dying for good brisket I asked at the station if it was juicy because last time I found it dry, they said it’s very good order it more fatty vs. lean. So I do.. I ordered collard greens, corn bread and Mac n cheese. I get the order and the brisket is an extremely small portion for the price and quality it’s not fatty it’s sorta nervy ok not great but edible eating around it. The brisket was disappointing small small portion semi dry didn’t feel fresh.. I added bbq sauce and ate it I was starving! I notice no Mac n cheese but baked beans I tell the waiter he brings it over and it’s amazing. The collard greens I always loved..this time a no go has a lot of heat & spice. Recipe change? I call the server over a really polite amazing guy.👍🏼 I say this is spicy he said they add andouille sausage in it supposed to be sweet n spice little bite but this was not a bite of spice. Having reflux and stomach issues I am not taking a chance, he spoke to a manager and took it back. It was a small cup they should have the authority to do it without manager approval but ok..they let me keep it I tasted it seemed very tomato ketchup paste like. I didn’t eat it. The corn bread is huge, enough for 3 ppl it’s a loaf I didn’t know wish someone would have mentioned this when I ordered. There was honey drizzled all over it. Corn bread was very dry on outside not crispy.. dry and inside somewhat moist so I made a mess of this loaf thing trying to get moist pieces but it just lacked flavor.

This place has sooo much potential I do not know how there are so many good reviews perhaps the big bar the drinking lol or maybe because they are the only bbq around the Huntington area even neighboring towns no bbq but from the set up to the atmosphere to the food it’s not great bbq it’s just ok. They are opening a Morgan’s bbq Brooklyn restaurant on 110 by the mall soon. I am looking forward to it. Sorry but you guys need to step it up. With tip I paid $43 better spent on another place in the area I feel like I paid for a cup of Mac n cheese. If the owner sees this let me know if this is the norm. Thanks!
