First time there last week and I spent almost $80 worth of food with my family and I ! Honestly, everything was flavorful.. but the rice was a little grainy(should’ve cooked a little longer) perhaps it was rushed?
Ordered oxtail with rice and peas, macaroni, and cabbage. The line worker was extremely rude and kept saying “next next next” in a rushing manner. Can we get time to read the menu… oh I’m sorry, I meant the WALL. Not to even mention, I stood at the counter for over 5 minutes to wait to be acknowledged.
The rice and beans were BURNT. Literally, black beans were all throughout the dish. Macaroni was decent, but the cabbage was so bland, it’s almost as if they cooked it with nothing but water. If I’m paying for a large oxtail, why would you give me 3? They should seriously consider changing their name to Yellow Star because ain’t nothing gold about it. I could understand if the food was 10/10, but it’s literally not.
Do better.
Made an order and they didn’t have what i wanted. Instead of offering other options it sounded like they didn’t care to help the person picking up the food. Then when they knew cancelling my order had to be done on their end they said we had to do it. I had to call them to tell them there was no way for me to do that and attitude is what i got immediately and its not even cancelled. Not even a sorry. And it wasn’t even closing time yet for them to have nothing left. Mark it out or stop accepting delivery maybe?!?!
I was worried about coming here because of the reviews but let me tell you the customer service was fine. They weren’t tripping over themselves to serve us or address us but we weren’t ignored. They were pleasant enough. The food was PRICEY 2 LARGE OXTAIL, A bottle of (excellent) sorrel and a carrot punch was ran me over $60. The food was also good enough. My father and I will continue the hunt but this spot was solid.
If the workers don’t like working with people DONT WORK THERE!! Always a problem when you ask questions and ask for WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR!! I will NEVER be back! This is why a lot of West Indian businesses will never prosper!
The customer service is bad! All I wanted was garnish on my meal (a couple carrots/onions) ..I was told it was only for the fish! WTH…never heard that ever!! Don’t worry I will drive by in a few years to see the o outcome of that place 😂
