In our experience, a warm and friendly place with traditional American comfort food.
We absolutely adore our local Tony Harper’s in Lowville! They serve the best margaritas and are incredibly flexible with menu substitutions and combinations. The service is outstanding! We do wish the place was a bit more spacious, but it remains one of our favorite spots to visit.
Did not order my fish “blackened “. This should never have left the kitchen! To be fair, the mussels and the scallops were good, but this piece of haddock was terribly overdone.
When you think of a Friday night fish fry, you think of a huge portion of delicious white flakey fish covered in poofy crispy light brown batter.
What we got here was a minimal flat grey portion of fish absolutely ensheated in slabs of wet, thick herb encrusted batter.
Very, very strange.
I ended up peeling off all the inedible batter to eat whatever fish I could salvage.
Steamed clams were good! Other fried foods were fine. Coleslaw was delicious.
I don’t like thin crust pizza. I also don’t care for veggie pizza. So, why did I end up eating thin crust veggies lovers pizza? Because my wife ordered it.
It was fantastic. Break out of your pizza rut and give it a try.
