Not so “Yummy”! This place is super expensive for basic Chinese food!! They also charge you to use a credit card, no matter how much you spend! The portions are less than what you normally get anywhere else. The taste is like any other restaurant, but the lo mein had almost no taste at all. In fact, on my one and only visit, some of my lo mein was burnt. I ordered a large shrimp lo mein. They use small tiny shrimps, and only about 7 of them. The egg roll is about half the size of a regular one. I don’t understand the reason for the high prices, other than the fact it’s in a nice neighborhood! Just don’t be fooled, it’s definitely not worth it!! They also have the nerve to charge you $2 if you pay over the phone with a credit card and they don’t tell you! Normally I don’t mind paying for really good quality food, but you definitely do not get your money’s worth here!!
I saw an “A” on their window so I decided to give them a try. After ordering 2 large chicken fried rices, I was shocked to hear them charge me $26. Hungry and in a hurry to get my mom food I ordered the small. Upon getting home, I realized how small the size was and became increasingly disappointed when we saw that there were no vegetables in it except for tiny pieces of onion, the tiny pieces of “chicken” actually looked, felt and tasted like mystery meat. And the rice wasn’t fried. Go figure!
We had no way back and didn’t want to completely waste the money so we made the best of it by adding vegetables, soy sauce and refrying the rice. I wish all that would have helped. Weren’t brave enough to eat the “meat”. Good luck if you eat there. Way too expensive to be that disappointed.
Update: Sadly, became inconsistent with food quality and portions became ridiculously small and even more outrageously expensive. I’ve taken my business elsewhere.
In my search of a decent Chinese restaurant these days, I came across Yummy House. Due to all the poor reviews, I hesitated ordering from them however, every time, I pass by, I see people in and out ALL THE TIME. I’m glad I decided to give them a try. This is the second time and I am LOVING them so far. Vegetables tasted very fresh and were not over cooked. The picture is chicken and garlic sauce with white rice. The egg rolls were tasty and NOT greasy AT ALL. I hope they keep it up! They are pricey but this is the way of life now. It costs a lot for these businesses to stay open. I’m willing to pay if the food and service is worth it. I’m pretty satisfied. Woman on the phone was very courteous.
I order from here every now and then and it’s always something especially with delivery! I just ordered shrimp and broccoli in garlic sauce with fried rice w egg and not only did it take 40 plus minutes (I live about 8 mins away ) They charged me $17 for 4 shrimps and fried rice that had burnt egg pieces. Completely unappetizing
Ribs have sweet sauce and that charcoal taste. Rice was delicious. Hot spicy soup was just the right spicy to enjoy it. Egg rolls veggie and the shrimp hit the spot.
