5 Reviews on “Chilito s Restaurant”
Colorful murals depicting scenery from Mexico decorate the interior. Bachata softly plays in the background. The food is delicious and affordable. The waitstaff is friendly and the bathrooms are clean. There is beer on draft and bottled. In August 2023 the Orange County Libertarian Party convened at this location.
Best authentic Mexican food I had ever tried ( I had been in Mexico many times so this place is real gem )
Excellent service and very cozy atmosphere.
Thank you Chilitos!
Can’t wait to come back
Atmosphere was spot on, full of colorful decor and Mexican background. The clay cups and bowls were nice and authentic. The music in the background had mariachi and other authentic Mexican music and photos around the restaurant. If I rated it just on atmosphere it’d be a 5. When it comes to the food though and price that was my biggest disappointment. The cóctel was white people cóctel and the tacos were white people tacos. I’m a white person myself and I know what a Mexican taco vs American taco is. Hard shell ground beef bagged cheese and bagged lettuce for a taco w the Ortega tasting sauce not authentic at all. The sauce for the enchiladas tasted like it was out of a can and they don’t make fresh from hatch pepper made sauces. The flan was so disgusting, it was more gelatinous and tasted like it was in one of those store bought Goya packages full of caramel no fluff or flavor like eating a caramel gummy. The desserts were mini size for the price of a full size I can get at other Mexican restaurants. $12 for a small bowl the size of one avacado for guacamole was a overcharged. The taste of the guacamole was delicious and they made it in front of you to the side but the price for the size is outrageous of what you can get elsewhere in area. They charged $5 for an horchata and for refill did not say would charge another $5. $10 for horchata was out priced. At least they do offer the drink. They did do a nice birthday song w a mariachi hat for my hubbies birthday with a thumb size chimi. If you want good atmosphere come here. If you want authentic good Mexican food not so much here.
Nice decorative atmosphere for a restaurant. Great parking. Very satisfactory service. Disappointed with the food compared to their high prices. Food isn’t authentic and is Americanized using cheaper food ingredients with less flavor. Food is okay but not great. Margarita was good but very expensive. We will probably return one day but in no hurry.
Delicious authentic Mexican food. Fast service. Nice colorful atmosphere!!
