We were here to hike Letchworth and needed a proper hearty all American breakfast before starting our day. Tried one spot but they were oddly closed, another spot looked too busy and as I searched through my GPS, Maddie J’s popped up so off we went and so happy we did!

When you first walk into this small dining room, you only see a few tables and counter seating thus making it look like it’s crazy busy but everyone who was a local there this morning directed us to go to the back and the whole other side had more tables too. We were greeted really warmly by their lovely in-house baker (kicking myself for not getting her name) and equally really taken care of by our sweet waitress too! I LOVED that almost everyone who walked in after us was greeted by their first name and asked if they wanted their usual.

The menu is to the point and concise, which I really appreciate. Right now because of Covid, everything is served on paper plates with plastic utensils, but still that didn’t deter from the deliciousness we were about to experience. Price to portion is perfect and when we ordered a breakfast platter to share, they split it up for both of us on separate plates without us even asking! Breakfast platter came with 3 eggs, however you like them, either 3 pancakes or french toast, home fries and choice of meat… All of it was perfectly cooked and amazing. Of course had to have both the house made corned beef hash and the canned corn beef hash, and as much as I enjoyed the house made one because it was really flavorful and not crazy salty, I’m a spam lover so canned corned beef has a special place in my heart.

All of their baked goods are made in house by a really sweet woman who retired and couldn’t stand to stay at home anymore and since she can only bake so much for her family, she does it here and I am grateful to have met her, have some great convo about any and all topics but most importantly getting to experience her phenomenal peanut butter cookies, brownies, banana bread, and cinnamon buns!

This is a must go place if you are in the area! We couldn’t find any reasonably priced accommodations closer to the park so I’m glad we ended up here to experience Maddie J’s!

Where to EVEN begin. In today’s world, with all the husel and busel, it is a RARE sight to see something so unique in a place to eat.

And Maddie J’s fits that and so much more!
It is not really on a main street to see but kind of off and almost hidden, so Google location to find this Gem!

So if you are still reading to this point, you have to ask what SO Special about Maddie J’s?

One that is going to surprise you. It not only gives a home type feel but also a home type experience so hard to find in today’s world.

And talk about EXCELLENT customer service and so friendly it just makes it like home more.
And the food top notch and prices unseen
in a world where everything is sky-high and you will be surprised it is not high prices.

So do not walk but run to this true gem and be prepared to be amazed!

Update I was there again yesterday
On Sunday 11/05/23 and I took 2 pictures of my food. I had the Big Dog Special ( $ 13.95 )
and talk about BIG!!! And Delicious! And Filling!!

Feels just like going over to Grandma’s house for breakfast. Cozy little diner with charming atmosphere. The random coffee cups just ad this feel of visiting with grandma or your mother in law for coffee.

I had Eggs, hash, bacon, sourdough, and pancake on the side served with Maple Syrup. 🍁 so buttery and fluffy. Serving sizes are perfect with smaller hash so you don’t end up with a mound of potatoes season perfectly. πŸ˜‹

My wife had the fresh corned beef hash and it was probably the best I’ve ever had.

This place is definitely worth the trip off the beaten path. Fresh brownie and Cinnamin Bun to go. Delicious.

Stopped here to have breakfast before heading back home on a Sunday morning.
Staff, and other patrons, were very friendly and helpful.
Food was delicious, and these are probably the best home fries I have ever had. Husband said the homemade corned beef hash was amazing. We had omelettes and mine was so big, half came home with me for tomorrow.
Portions are great and the prices are even better.
Highly recommend this place, and if we are ever back in that area again in the future, this will be a must do again on our list.

Went there by myself and was treated amazing. It’s a small homestyle restaurant in a small town. Seemed like everyone in there knew each other but they still made me feel welcomed. The waitress gave me some scrambled eggs for my dog too πŸ™‚
