I have loved pizza my entire life but most places don’t come close to this Mario’s Pizzeria in small Oriskany Falls, NY. The garlic knots are amazing, the everything wings, crisper to perfection and ham topped pizza. All made with love and devotion. The result is something so delicious it is hard to find anywhere else other than in the middle of nowhere, Upstate New York.
I haven’t had pizza in four months and this was my amazing reward to waiting. I have been coming here for over 30 years. My family, no matter where they are always ask me when I am going next. They long for Mario’s as I do every time I have been away for awhile. Tonight my brother was in town from Denver and all we could talk about was going to Mario’s. We had this meal to carry on the traditions we had with our parents and grandparents. We enjoyed it as I know they would want us to. Mario, the owner has become close to my family over the years and it makes the meal special every time. It’s not going to a pizza place, it’s like going to a family member’s kitchen for a special dinner. I can’t wait to have it again soon.
I was recommended this place when I came into town by a client. I’m from Texas but have a soft spot, read craving, for a NY Slice. Always. The spot it self was cool. The staff were very nice and the pizza. Oh man. The pizza. Crispy, cheesy, good topping distribution, pepperoni not to greasy. The dough was superb. The kind of crust you enjoy as much as the pie. I may never make it to this part of NY again. But if I do. I’ll be stopping back by here.
Slice review. Random stop while out cruising around. Was glad we stopped. The inside decor is great. Def a a welcoming vibe. The staff seemed very pleasant and got our slices quick. The slice was good. Nice undercarriage. The sauce was good. A little to subtle tho. Crust was crisp yet flakey and doughy. Id like to go back and order a pizza and something else to get more of a taste of the food there. Will update review score when i do. I would reccommend stopping for a slice if in the area tho
Food is going downhill and price goes up. I feel u get ripped off every time I go there. 15 years ago place was awesome. I ask for hot food and they seem shocked I want hot pizza and rolls.
Happened to run into this pizzeria while traveling and decided to stop in to grab a slice to go. I had a buffalo chicken slice as well as a pepperoni slice, thin crust and absolutely delicious. My boyfriend got a slice of chicken Parm and he just raved about it. He’s not a huge fan of thin pizza but really enjoyed the crust. Soft and chewy. Didn’t spend time looking over menu but I certainly can vouch for their pizza. Prices were normal for today’s pizzerias.
