Great spot for a quick bite at the beach! Reasonable prices, something for everyone, great variety of beverages from frappes to smoothies! Gluten free bagels also available. Speedy and friendly service!
Sharing a unit with the Cabana Beach Bar, the Beachside Cafe serves those with a taste for the nostalgic: reasonably priced lemonades, simple and tasty milkshakes, and a range of fresh cold brews.
Benefitting from the forgiving state sales tax, the Beachside Cafe is able to set each of its beverages at a low price, offering both the incentive to return throughout the hours that you might spend at the beach, or be inclined to leave a larger tip for the staff making your drinks. None of the drinks, excepting a cold brew with flavor shots, would cause anyone to spend more than $5.
Even though I didn’t purchase any of the products made at the cafe, a cousin with whom I was at the beach with bought a frozen lemonade and, after seeing his beaming smile, offered me a taste of his drink. It was cold, refreshing, and completed the mental picture of a sunny day at the beach.
It should be noted that even though the cafe shares a space with the bar – the counter of one facing the other – parents coming in with children will find the environment welcoming, and there is no sense of intimidation that would make one think twice about bringing children into the area.
One of my only criticisms of the cafe is that it lacks the more traditional products that one might expect to find at a cafe, especially one at the beach. For example, Cokes and Pepsi are not listed on the drinks menu, and ice creams are not listed on the limited food menu. On one hand, I would hardly miss the absence of commercial sodas when freshly made alternatives are available at such low cost, but I would expect other visitors to be less adventurous in their tastes.
Overall, the Beachside Cafe is an ideal stopping point for those seeking refreshment at low costs on a sunny day at the beach.
