First time checking out the Lazy Cow
Very laid back comfortable vibe
Staff were friendly & attentive, especially Johnny, who gave us a little tour of the place, including the courtyard area, at the end of the night.
Drinks were good, we had a painkiller & a strawberry margarita
To start, we had the crispy calamari appetizer. It was melt in your mouth tender and went perfectly with the sweet chili dipping sauce.
Our entrees were southern fried chicken and the braised lamb shank, with the chili garlic eggplant on the side. Portions were decent.
The chicken was great, crispy skin and tender meat. The lamb shank was delicious, rich and tender, with oh so good buttery mashed potatoes on the side. Loved the eggplant as well, the chili garlic sauce added great flavor.
Would definitely recommend!
Went for date night with my boyfriend and had an amazing experience. We had the salmon tartare tacos, lazy cow burger, ribs, and sweet chili green beans. The food was fresh, flavorful and delicious… and those green beans…. OMG😍 We also each had a bacon martini which hit the spot. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive. They opened just days ago and we already can’t wait to come back!
I have no idea why this isn’t one of the more popular places on Bell Blvd. They have amazing cocktails, unique concoctions that provide quite the kick. Get a nice little buzz going and then order the BEST fried calamari I have had. The other food I have tried has also been really good…. all the salads are great. Just a heads up… the food is a little spicy so if that’s not your thing, you might be turned off.
The decor is awesome. Really unique design that is intimate and also has a retro lounge feel sprinkled with some modern elements. Real comfortable place to have a drink or bring a date.
Give this place a try.
I decided to try this place with (2) of my friends for lunch. We went in the afternoon, on the hottest day of the month, when there were no other customers in the restaurant. The waiter was very courteous and seated us at a table. He made sure we had enough water and ice, then took our order.
We started off with truffle fries and fried calamari, which was enough for the (3) of us to share. The fries were seasoned generously; any restaurant you go to, you can’t go wrong with fries. The fried calamari was also seasoned generously and had a light, oily crunch to them. A splash of lemon juice enhanced the flavor along with its dipping sauce which didn’t overpower the calamari. As for texture, there was an equal distribution of calamari rings and tentacles, so it was a pleasant palette for the eyes.
For the main course, we ordered the roasted salmon, gruyere burger & meatballs pasta. I had the meatballs pasta, but could tell that our (3) main course dishes looked delicious upon first glance.
The pasta was good but it was their savoury sauce that made the entire dish worth coming back for. The meatballs, unfortunately were a bit tough that I had to use a knife to cut them, but after swirling the meat in the sauce, it was palatable. The garnish on top of the pasta added a delectable kick of earthy flavor as well as color to the pasta. But if there is one thing that I love about the dish, is the amount of meatballs to pasta ratio. They have the right amount of meatballs to the right amount of pasta, so you won’t be too bloated by the time you order dessert.
The interior of the restaurant is very chill and casual. The walls are very decoratively curated that they give off a speakeasy aesthetic. Again, we went during the day so we’d miss out on the nightly ambience of the restaurant. But this would be an excellent place to get together with your co-workers to enjoy the food & drink. Give this place a try!!!
There was only 1 staff at the front doing(host, waitress & bartend) she greet & sat us down in the back. We were the only ones there. They had the AC on but all the doors open on a hot day so the humidity was coming in and AC not cold enough to keep the temperature down. Very uncomfortable!
First she advised us there were no short ribs, then later told us no more Avocado & no more summer ale.
Burger was not good, dry & bland.
Fries- not crispy but mushy and bland.
Salmon over cooked.
Food wise was a bad experience overall for the price they charge.
Do not recommend & will not be returning.
