Code Red Restaurant on Gunhill Road is absolutely magical. The atmosphere, food, staff, and even the customers are all so nice and engaging. We love getting the freshly prepared eat-in or take-out food dishes, and on the weekends, the environment steps up to the next level. βπΏππΎπΆπ₯
Our host for the night was Tracey who gave us excellent service and was very funny and patient with us. Thank you for a wonderful experience and helping us celebrate our friend birthday. The food and drinks were on point, that rum punch was definitely real. The only thing we didn’t like was the empanadas for some reason it taste like the oil was old or some weird thing was going on with it but none of the empanadas hit this night sorry. But service and everything else was tasty and delicious.
First of all, I must say that the ambiance was absolutely breathtaking! I cannot express how warmly we were welcomed. And let me tell you, my family can be quite a handful, but Georgia handled everything with such professionalism and grace. She made it her mission to ensure everyone’s happiness.
She repeatedly checked in on us, going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. And did I mention we were a party of 15? I knew it would be a bit chaotic, but she effortlessly managed the situation with grace.
I cannot stress enough how impressed I was with Georgia’s service. I give this place a perfect score of 10 out of 10, solely based on her exceptional service. So, if you happen to find yourself in the Bronx, please do yourself a favor and visit this exquisite restaurant/lounge. And don’t forget to ask for Georgia. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
Oh, and by the way, the prices are just right. If you’re looking for a lively atmosphere with a fantastic DJ, make sure to visit from Tuesday to Saturday. Unfortunately, they don’t have a DJ on Mondays, and they close early.
Great food. The portions are good and super tasty. I love the Caribbean American fusion they have going on. The bathroom was well maintained, there is just one unisex that allows one user at a time. The music can be a little on the louder end, so it’s better for party goers rather than those looking to dine.
The Oxtail Tacos were the best. They could put a little more Oxtails in them. I had the fried rice and it was amazing. I also had the stew red snapper. Delicious is an understatement. This is definitely a new spot for me. I’ll be back real soon.
