My friends and I came to Sonny’s Canal House for the first time. I appreciated the seating with the waterside view. There seemed to be a party in the main dining area which got extremely noisy. So, the alternate seating away from it was great. The food and our waiter, Sam F., was excellent! Only two things we all agreed on that it was tough parking, because the lot is small and in a residential area can be an issue too. The other thing is that we saw that the upper level of the restaurant was an eye sore. I hope when it’s finished that it will be another seating area and it will be beautiful. Other than those two things, the food was delicious and the service was great.
A real find. We sat on the deck. Live music indoors for those who like it. Menu is full of interest. Loved the scallops in particular. Quick and efficient service. What’s not to like!

Had a great experience hosting a graduation party at Sonny’s today. Manager Corey and his team did an outstanding job with the food, room setup, and service. They were extremely attentive and accommodated all of our requests. The sun room is bright and cheerful, with a lovely view of the canal. We will be back soon!
Recently, we celebrated an 80th birthday with 20+ people for dinner. They were very accommodating and provided a custom package that worked with our budget. Food was delicious, service was top-notch and the space was perfect. We were right on the water, so views were lovely. I would highly recommend Sonny’s for your special event.
Food and service are good, but they have some guy dressed as Trump running around the restaurant and harrassing everyone. Completely ruined our time and cannot understand why Sonny’s allows this. I’m conservative but last thing I want when trying to eat dinner is some obnoxious guy in my face trying to get us to buy him drinks? Bizarre behaviour and would not leave us alone.
