Very nice atmosphere. First time coming after hearing about it for a while. The place was empty a little after lunch service. I ordered their sweet grilled chicken and fried chicken wings. I would say the fried chicken wings were crispy and juicy at the same time. I should of tried another sauce on the grilled chicken which was slathered in sweet sauce which I couldn’t fully enjoy the flavor of grilled chicken itself. You get some radish and a small salad to balance out the heat with takeout service.

4.5 stars. This fast casual restaurant was recently featured in a local newspaper, so I decided to check them out. Crispy Cloud offers customizable bibimbap, acai bowls, smoothies, Taiyaki, Korean toasts, sandwiches and Croffles.

I love the customizable approach to bibimbaps which is rare for most Korean restaurants. You get to choose the grain (white or multigrain rice), protein (there are 5 to choose from), veggies, toppings, and sauces. The bibimbap here is served cold and not the blisteringly hot stone pot version. In fact, the only thing hot (temperature wise) was the fried egg on top. I’ve had both versions of bibimbap, and my preference is usually the hot serving but I still thoroughly enjoyed the ones here. The gochujang (red chilli paste) they used had just the right amount of heat with slight sweet undertones which I loved. It really helped to perk up the dish.

We also tried their Create-your-own acai bowl. I got a small 12 oz acai bowl, and it came with unlimited toppings. I got mine with strawberries, bananas, walnuts, and granola crumble. The acai itself was delicious and had the consistency of frozen ice cream (vs. soft serve). All of the fruit was fresh, and the granola crumble was slightly sweet.

And for dessert, we got 2 Taiyakis with Nutella filling. It was so delicious, freshly made and piping hot. My only complaint is that I wished they had put more Nutella filling, but I think for most people it would be fine.

Overall, it was a really great first visit. We enjoyed everything we ordered and will be back to try their Korean toast and Croffles.

Crispy Cloud opened at the beginning of November where TMB used to be. I had the beef bulgogi and spicy squid kim bob. I thought they were as good, if not a little better, than the same at Rolly Kimbap. Will have to try their customizable bibimbap-like rice bowl next time.

Update – went back the next day and had a bulgogi rice bowl. It was great!
