I loved the food. It’s Freshly made food so your going to wait a bit. No problem for me I like hot fresh food. While you wait nibble on the buttery light fresh cornbread muffins and sip on some ice cold lemonade. I like this joint. It’s not a fancy sophisticated place but if you want a good hot meal this is the place to be. They have take out and they use GrubHub too. I got the Sample plate, catfish nuggets tilapia shrimp with two sides. Loved the hot collard greens and baked macaroni and cheese. Thank God the greens are not the can stuff most fast food places have its the real deal. The red velvet cake moist and rich. I give it a 5 star rating for the food. Like I said before its a joint spot with tables and a seating area but no fancy decor. Staff is Friendly! Taira our server was well mannered with a genuine smile. Made me want to come back just for the service alone.
I don’t like not giving at least 4 stars but this was not their best day. I went on a Wednesday. Most items I ordered were not in stock. The yams and collards were good. The whiting, smothered pork chops and barbecue chicken were mediocre. Also, only had legs. After paying, was told it would take 45 minutes to be ready. Really disappointed.
We went there after midnight and to our surprise, the food was good. The fish portion sizes are a lil small in comparison to other places, but they make up for it in taste. The look of the place will throw you off, but give it a shot.. you won’t regret it.
Eww is all I can say. The food was mushy and not at all worthwhile. Even if the food was ok, the service was abysmal. There’s 4 types of restaurants, those diamonds in the rough where the food is good and it comes with good service. Then there’s the good food joints where the service sucks. After that there’s the places that have meh food, but great service. And lastly, you guessed it, comes places like the Catfish Cafe: where the food is terrible and the service is worse. Not sure why anyone would waste their time here when there’s so many better delis and food in the area.
Never open at the time they claimed . Went at 1034 pm closed . But website says 1am is closing
