My bf is currently staying in Queen NY for work for a few months. It was midnight and he was hungry for anything that reminded him from back home down south. I saw this place and I said well we can try this. I have never been a fan of catfish and down south they love it. He ordered it along with mac n cheese and some collard greens. It was a take our order via uber. I couldn’t believe how goood every was for it to be a late night order. We ordered this meal a little after midnight. We didn’t know what to expect considering it to be so late. Can I say the catfish was probably the best catfish I ever had with so much flavor I felt like I was in food heaven. So kudos to this restaurant! We will definitely be ordering from here again!
Usually my co workers finds places likes these to try and this time I’m the one that found this one using google maps.
I honestly have no complaints about this spot, I was comfortable paying $50 for two fried chicken platters with Mac and Collard Greens and two sides of fried shrimp for me and the homie.
Everything slapped with essence is all I can really say, the place could use an update to their atmosphere but it’s an order and go type of place anyway so there isn’t any seating available.
I think I ate everything is 5 minutes time (a lot of food) and my homie said he came back the next day without me too which is crazy but that’s how you know their food is good if you comeback two days in a row. I’ll be revisiting too
The only thing that was good about my order this evening was that the guy that took my was polite and the music was good. The collard greens was nasty, too much relish in the potato salad for me and the whiting was only okay. Disappointing!
My coworkers come here often so I decided to try this place out for myself on lunch break. The whiting fish, mac & cheese, and green beans was decent. Food had flavor and temperature was right 👍🏼 price was also affordable for the portion size. My only complaint would be I witness the owner talk very rude to the young, school age girl behind the register, he yelled at her because she was giving a handful of Tatar sauce and told her there’s a 2 sauce count per customer, unless they request more because if they throw them away “he is losing out on money”. Hey I get it, it’s a business but I don’t think that was something customers should have heard. NEXT TIME WAIT FOR CUSTOMERS TO EXIT YOUR ESTABLISHMENT AND THEN SPEAK WITH YOUR EMPLOYEE!!!
Not a very appealing thing to post but I want to spread awareness! I ordered the turkey wing meal and as I was eating it I noticed a worm MOVING in the meat. I immediately went to throw up what I ate and found another worm in my vomit. Absolutely horrifying experience! I saw a lady say she had the same meal and got food poisoning on the reviews. Luckily I spotted it while I was eating it I could’ve been in the same boat!
