This is it!!! New favorite sushi spot. I used to go to Bada when I lived closer to Suffern, but of all the sushi places I’ve tried in the Nanuet area, Sakana is by far the most refined, fresh, and authentic.
This place knows real sushi and has a nice wine and dessert selection as well. All of my meals here have been exceedingly delicious – go see for yourself!
Great sushi spot. Been dining here for years. Surprisingly great special rolls and the fish is always great quality. Our favorites are the crystal roll, fantastic roll, and the mango roll. We try something new every time and this time we ordered the salmon skin hand rolls and we were not disappointed. For dessert, their fried ice cream is delicious.
My boyfriend and I go here often, to the point where they kind of already know what we will order. They’re always super friendly and the food is very tasty. I enjoy the teriyaki options but my boyfriend loves the shrimp tempura rolls. And you can’t miss their Banana tempura or fried icecream!!! I would recommend trying it out for a date night!
Checked out this place because we were looking for a new Japanese restaurant and the reviews seemed okay. However, the experience was disappointing.
The food was flavorless, cold and overpriced. I ordered the scallop teriyaki and the scallops were mushy, cold and bland, as if they reheated it in a microwave and added sauce. The dish had a small portion (half cup) of cold rice and cold noodles with a dab of sauce on it. The meal looked and tasted disgusting, so I didn’t eat it.
My child ordered a chicken lo mein dish which she also didn’t eat the chicken because it didn’t look or taste like chicken. The noodles were cold but she ate half of the noodles. She ordered a bubble tea and she said it was gross so she didn’t drink it, because she said it tasted like rubber.
Overall the food had a fishy taste to it (even the chicken and mushroom soup), which made it even more disturbing.
Spent $70 for 2 people on meals that we didn’t eat. They should have refunded at least the bubble tea or the scallop teriyaki when they saw we didn’t eat/drink it. Wish I didn’t waste my money. We had to go to a different restaurant to eat. Will not be going back.
Fish tasted very fresh, waiter/host was very friendly and gave great recommendations, and the bathroom was clean! Prices are average for non-AYCE sushi.
We enjoyed the Bounty Hunter and Fantastic Rolls the best. One of them came with a really good sauce, almost like an eel sauce/spicy mayo mixed.
