After having no luck going to a few of our favorite restaurant because they had no reservations available we decided to try Kitchen at the Inn for the first time. The price is reasonable and the menu was much more innovative than most restaurants around that serve the same old basic fare. The Brie empanadas had a poached pear inside and were not your typical starter food, they were creative and delicious. I could honestly see these reworked slightly sweeter as a dessert !The turkey and wild rice soup was hearty and flavorful with a well-balanced flavor. The hanger steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked to my liking! The Bolognese sauce wasn’t our favorite, but we are very picky about sauces… Both of the desserts that we had were obviously homemade and were delicious as well. We had flourless chocolate cake and the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. We will certainly be returning!

review for dinner 11/11/21. They are currently doing a reasonable prix fixe menu of $23.30. We had the pumpkin bisque, a heavenly light tasty soup confection with the perfect hints of cinnamon and nutmeg and the house salad, with an mixture of layered greens. The Steak Diane had a delicious mushroom, mustard, brandy sauce. The perfectly grilled pork chop had a rum raisin sauce that is reminiscent of a curry apple chutney but without the cayenne pepper hotnesss; a perfect choice for the chilly autumn evenings. The potatoes were the only down side to this meal – they were like a thick slice of whole boiled potato. The service was the just right amount of caring without being overbearing. The accompanying generous pour of wine by the glass choices were a reasonable $6.50. Overall, a perfect weekday choice of a cozy dinner out.

I was driving through Schylerville, and I decided to try out the “Kitchen.” I was a first-time customer. The experience and food were perfect! Service was excellent! The food was exceptional. Everything exceeded my expectations. I started with a cup of ham and corn chowder, and then, for my main meal, I had the pork loin dinner. It was wonderful. Prices are very reasonable. I hope to become a regular.

This was our second visit to this wonderful restaurant. We loved our dinner and will return! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming and the decor is charming. The salads were excellent, the split pea soup was fantastic. We both had the pork, which was accompanied by delicious broccoli and potatoes. And … the wine served by the glass was delicious and a generous pour. This restaurant “punches above its weight!”

Excellent menu & chef. Great decor on a 200+ yr old wood house / B&B, near the side of the Hudson River.
