5 Reviews on “King s Chef Chinese Restaurant”
Not gonna sugar coat this review however I should have known walking into an empty restaurant at 7pm smh.
On my way home didn’t know what to eat and searched for Taiwanese cuisine and this restaurant popped up with average reviews. I can only say I’m willing to try anything once.
The pork chop over rice was nothing but oil and my beef noodle soup (no pics taken) was basically a container of overcooked noodles in beef water. The broth had absolutely no taste, as if a beef bullion was simply dropped in.
Sorry to say both dishes were subpar at best and Can’t justify paying close to $23 for both.
It’s a small place, the woman at the desk was polite and friendly. The food was sub par. I remember years ago it was delicious but the flavours of various things are off. Some beef dishes taste a bit fishy, like fish. Pork chop was not terrible but very salty. I also got 3 cups chicken and there were too many shards of bone to enjoy the food. It takes no additional prep time to debone a chicken. I wont order or come back
Their food is very delicious. I have bought from here twice already and I haven’t gotten disappointed. Their pork fried rice is the best!
This hole in the wall has been at this location for as far as I can remember. It was only in recent years that I discovered that they serve authentic style Taiwanese dishes. For like a decade, I always thought this was just a typical American style chinese take out spot (Chicken & Broccoli, chicken wings etc.) I was getting lotto one day next door and had the munchies. I waltz in and damn did this spot give depressing vibes. There were like 4 tables for dine in and all empty. The male owner/staff behind the counter on his face looking like he hates his life, lol. But then again most chinese restaurant staff members are like that. Doesn’t mean anything bad really lol. I ordered the crowd favorite Fried pork chop over rice. It’s the closest thing to what this other restaurant named 66 on Prince Street had. It came out alright pork chop was breaded ok. The rice was ehhh. It’s supposed to have like minced pork over it. But then again it was only 10 bucks. Have gone back plenty since then for a quick cheap bite.
The food is good but the people who work the front desk have a horrendous attitude. They will never greet you even when you’re trying to pay or even ask questions about the menu. It’s not a language Barrier the person spoke in English. Again they are rude and horrible at customer service.
