We’ve been coming to the Original Pancake House for decades. We’re impressed with how consistent they’ve been over the years and our visit today was no exception. Service was efficient and friendly and food was excellent. Pecan pancakes are always a favorite for us.
Decided to give this a try based on the reviews, wasn’t terribly disappointed. I ordered the Dutch Baby, which took about 20 mins to cook, but it was 10am on a Thursday and they were pretty slow. The texture was very nice, almost like a crepe with puffy sides. The waitress was incredibly nice and prepared my Dutch Baby at the table. Overall I would give it a 4.5, as it there were no other options besides strawberry topping. I would liked to have tried a few of the pancake options as there were several. The price is kinda high, as I was looking at adding an egg and saw it was like $2.65 ??? For ONE egg?? The coffee here is fantastic though and the creamer is served in a carafe, nice and cold. Not those half and half packets that sit on the table room temp for who knows how long. The coffee cups, however nice they were, were hard to handle as they were wide and the tiny handle was too small to fit my finger in. The decor in this place isn’t great and the carpet in the entry way is pretty foul. All together I’d give it another shot if nothing else but to try the waffles.
Delicious light and fluffy gluten free pancakes that were so good I had to double check that they were gluten free! Very busy establishment, but you get seated and fed quickly, so worth the wait.
The staff was very friendly & welcoming. Once the order was placed, the food arrived very shortly thereafter. It was pretty surprising how quickly we were served. My personal favorite here is the chocolate chip pancakes. They are so chocolaty & delicious. Also, when other things have been ordered, they’ve been delicious as well. Have never been disappointed with their food.
Had the Dutch baby and it was so good! You should join the waitlist on your way there as it’s a bust place on Saturdays and was pretty loud but the food was worth it.
